We were the only ones there. Taste tested a few wines and bought a bottle. They have a very nice large patio.

A good number of wines to sample, but only 3 free. Not too sweet, not too dry, just nice balances of flavor. Helpful, knowledgeable server.

Our first visit at this winery, the staff was very friendly and helpful guiding us throughtheir wine tasting. My wife immediately fell in love with the atmosphere and commentedseveral times of how friendly the staff was. We love traveling through Wisconsin andvisiting and supporting local businesses. We joined their wine club, because they havegreat wine, especially the Badger Blush. This wine reminds of a wine we fell in love with outin Napa. We also, wanted to be on their e-mail list of upcoming events. This winery is abeautiful outdoor setting, much like many wineries out in Napa, CA.

Very impressive grounds and vineyard as you drive up. We have been going to the Botham Winery since 2003. They provide a great tour, with knowledgeable and entertaining tour guide.Inside, you will find the tasting room and gift shop. Both are decorated very nicely and plenty of wine related accessories. This year the new Back Bar Lounge was built.Outside, there is the outdoor terrace area with plenty of seating and a beautiful view. The Botham Winery Events look very nice and inviting. All the wines are great. This year we bought a glass of Riesling and a glass of the new 8180 and enjoyed them out on the terrace. While we were there a small group was enjoying a picnic lunch and a bottle of red. Another group, which looked like a bridal party, was also out on the terrace enjoying themselves. We will go back!We have an Upland Reserve (2000 & 2001) in our wine cellar.

Read the reviews here on trip advisor and decided to stop when we were in the Madison area. We were not disappointed. The wines were awesome; some of the best we've had from smaller wineries. We will definitely return and are passing on the word to family and friends. If you're in Madison area for whatever reason and enjoy wine, take the short jaunt to Botham!!

For the past 3 years, 30 of my closest friends and I have rented a bus and spent the day gallivanting through the Wisconsin countryside visiting wineries. Dubbed the Wine-apalooza tour we've found a lot of good/fun wineries, occasionally a really good winery, but today we found a favorite winery! The owners/vintners, Sarah and Peter Botham, are a charming, personable couple doing good things with vines. The wines they make comes from Wisconsin grapes, grapes they grow--not wine made in Wisconsin with grapes from somewhere else. The drive to Botham is lovely. When you turn the final corner to go to the vineyard, you see grape vines lining the hills—lots of oohs and aahs. The tasting barn is large and comfortable with an outdoor area that’s great for picnics or just sitting around with friends and sipping a nice glass. Yes, they have complimentary tasting. The Field 3 Red is amazing! I'm not a red drinker, but I gave a bottle to a friend who was totally knocked out by this wine. The Cupola White did a happy dance in my mouth.I’m not going to mention names (my mother said it wasn’t nice), but there is another winery sort of up the road a’piece that has a lot of nice flowers—however, it lacks the soul and commitment that we felt at Botham.

Beautiful WI countryside Vineyard and Winery west of Madison in the Barneveld, WI area. Worth the trip.Wines with grapes from NY. In addition to sampling wines the remodeled barn has a gallery, gourmet food, gift and wine accessory selections. You may have three free wine tastings or pay $5.00 for more. We highly recommend to not miss out on Botham Wines and pay the extra $5.00 unless you know exactly what you are going for. The actual wine tasting area is very small in comparison to the overall building size. On the day we visited there were frequent on again, off again showers. The wine tasting area easily became overcrowded with the addition of 6 more people. The outdoor terrace is splendid and perfect for a day of relaxing with wine & cheese and friends. Cheeseboards with fruit are also sold at the winery if you forget to bring your own. Settle in with a bottle and enjoy the beautiful countryside. Much to our liking was the Uplands Reserve, Cupola & Big Red Stuff. At checkout the staff were able to tell us where in our local area we would be able to purchase more Botham wine.

I hosted my sister's baby shower in the back Barn Lounge and it was incredible. The staff at Botham helped me every step of the way and were completely accommodating. The rustic room was beautiful and everyone had an incredible time. The scenic grounds are gorgeous and the site is tucked back away in the hills, so it's peaceful and quiet. The wines are fantastic too - we actually served the Cupola and Badger Blush at the baby shower, and they were a huge hit with the guests! I would strongly recommend this facility for an event of up to 50 people, and the incredible wines that they are making in the hills of southern Wisconsin - top notch!

Small winery, but BIG on their wine selections. What they offer is not a large selection, just some very wonderful wines. We have made several visits to replenish our wine cooler and have also joined their wine club.

We met friends at the Vineyard and enjoyed sampling various wines before deciding upon a type to share at a table inside the barn. The hostess who helped with the wine tastings was very friendly and welcoming. We were the only customers at first. The intermittent showers caused us to choose indoor seating rather than enjoying sitting outdoors on the deck. A window overlooked the hillside, brightened the interior of the barn. We'd checked ahead of time and were assured we could bring food to enjoy with our wine so we had brought a picnic of cheese, crackers, fruit, etc, although Botham's does sell cheese.Beautiful country setting, worth the drive. Music on the weekends in summertime. We'll be back.

There is not a real tour. You can buy wine and taste it, but not see the process. The scenery is nice.
