Great little zoo. Free to get in but you don't have a lot of things to look at. Kills about 29 minutes. Probably great for the little ones.

We enjoyed this zoo so much we brought the rest of the family back the next day. This zoo is just big enough to enjoy for all ages! My dad can't do much walking &we we had a 4 year old - it was the perfect size for both.

This zoo is so great. If you're wanting to see hundreds of different species, you won't find them here. However, if you want a very pleasant experience in a lovely area, this zoo is great. We started going here when our son was very young and we still love going back. We go to the Dells and experience all the fun and chaos, and then it's really great to go to Baraboo for a less hectic, peaceful time. The park is truly lovely with lots of space and big trees - perfect for a picnic or game of Frisbee. The zoo takes just the right amount of time to not exceed little ones' attention spans. There's usually a great bear or monkey that is a big hit. There are simple refreshments on sight and we've never encountered a crowd. I'm ready to go back any time.

I love this park. Even when it is busy, it is a peaceful place to visit. The free zoo is a special treat as well as the river walk. The playground and shelters are nothing fancy, but adequate.

It is pretty cool. Especially the Prairie Dogs. Don't get caught feeding them food you brought. Even though they live sunflower seeds. Then there is a trail to follow to a bridge and there is a park right next to the zoo. So a great day to spend with family.

We have been going to this zoo for about 40 years so I am sentimental but you should go. It is home to few animals so you probably won't spend more than an hour or so. The prairie dogs were the most fun.

This is a little zoo that has about a dozen species. Most of the animals are rescues or are retired from other zoos. Takes about 45 minutes to go through.

They have a variety of animals that are very well cared for. There are informational plaques at each display and the staff are full of more information. Nina the llama took an interest in my husband which we found hysterical. There is a beautiful park right next door - a great family place to picnic and spend the day.

One hour from home, just taking a road trip, heard about the free zoo, a dozen exhibits, 45 min to see everything, nice shaded little exhibits, saw everything except timber wolves, parked 35' from the entrance without knowing where to park - that was luck. Few other people looking and it wasn't crowded. No steps to negotiate, just the curb, sidewalk and angled cement to exhibits. Everything is labeled but weather-worn yet readable. The prairie dogs are uncovered and would only be seen on a nice day. There are donation boxes, no concessions were open. The goats are touchable and it costs 25 cents for a handful of feed. There were 2 bear there, one visible and panting in the morning sun. You are about 6 feet from the bear when she sits upfront. It's an older zoo, with weathered rails and repainted wood buildings but it's taken care of. Family friendly with green grass just feet away for the restless kids and picnics. This is small enough to use a stroller or carry a child for 45 minutes. There's a drinking fountain and a hand sanitizer on a nearby pole after feeding the goat. They lick the feed pellets out of your hand, and that's about the only photo op for your kids to be in a picture. That's the only place we waited our turn, it takes a minute to put coins in, get feed, line up a child to feed the goat and snap a picture. There is a lot to do in this 'little' town so we didn't mind this quick stop. The Prairie Dogs were out in the sun and are the most charming animals!!

This is a very small zoo. I think there were less than 15 species of animals. A bear, llama, some dear, a few monkeys, a wolf, a potbellied pig, couple of goats, some geese. I may have forgotten a few but that is about it. 15 minutes should be enough to cover this attraction.

This is a very small zoo but it is free and the kids still love it. The Prairie dogs are their favorite. It is the perfect place to visit when we have some time to kill and want to be outside.

We bring the Grandkids here for picnics and the Play area a couple times a summer. They look for ward to going there, one year we had a family gathering here and everybody liked it. The Animal area is not huge, but they have been adding a few things. If there Donate to it, its a nice thing to have in the area for people to enjoy. Its a way to see it grow!!

Ochsner Zoo is a very small zoo, but there is no admission fee. A nice place to spend a few hours if you are in the Baraboo area.

My mother used to bring us here when we were little kids, some of the stuff used to scare the crap out of me! That's great for a kid. FREE!
