Not far from the Hulopoe Bay, this is a short hike to the lookout for Sweetheart Rock..... Very nice for couples!!

First distinctive rock you will see as you arrive from the ferry from Lahaina. Beautiful and tragic legends about this. Was the final stop with our day trip tour.

a nice short walk from the parking lot and you can enjoy the sunsetting over this beautiful view. some of the water/waves were interesting to see as the rocky underneath lead to all sorts of rip tides (good to see from a distance)

This was so much more beautiful in person than any picture can show! As we walked up to the top of this cliff we saw some yellow fish down on the water, so we stopped to watch them. Then we noticed a 8-10 foot shark!!! The freaky part of this was just before we walked up this path we were in that water!!! I guess that is why they say, "buddy up" when going snorkeling or swimming in the ocean. It was really cool to have seen that! The view from the top is breathtaking! I have never felt so alive! Lanai is a wonderful place on this earth! I would go again, this time I would stay on Lanai most of the trip, not just one day!

The trail to Sweetheart Rock (the viewing area) begins at the Four Seasons Manele Bay Hotel or at the far left end of the beach. You start with a gradual climb to higher elevation and the trail hugs the coastline with a steep drop-off to the ocean. Once the trail ends, you can re-trace your steps or cut-thru the trees and end-up by the Lanai harbor. The hike is about one mile in length. You get great ocean views and a very unique perspective of Sweetheart Rock. Sunset is especially spectacular.
