Growing up across the street from the park it always feels like home. Many things have changed, many have remained the same. There is an amazing pool/splash park, playground, band shelter, ball fields, tennis courts, running paths and even a log cabin......all of which are used heavily different times of the year. The park is well maintained. Say hello to Johnny Kaw.

This 45 acre park was established in 1857. Our family has spent many enjoyable hours here through the years. Some of the features include a splash park, aquatic center (admission charged),two shelters, six tennis courts, outdoor basketball court , children's playground, picnic tables, some with grills, 3 ball diamonds , a one mile multi-use trail, outdoor stage ,rose garden, sandlot volleyball and restrooms. It is a beautiful park with green spaces and many beautiful old trees.

This is one of our favorite places to go in Manhattan. The kids love the swimming pool with the fun slides, lazy river and diving boards. For those who don't want to pay to swim, there is a free splash park beside the playground. There is, also, tennis courts, basketball courts, and ice skating in the winter. It is definitely one of Manhattan's treasures and deserves a visit while in town.
