fort harker museum complex

Took scenic routes through Kansas home to Oklahoma and happen to spot a trail head sign outside of Ellsworth, KS for Fort Harker. Decided to head to Kanopolis and check it out. The old jailhouse serves as the museum with a $3.00 entry fee. The gentleman there was full of history about the area as he is from Kanopolis. There are a few other structures, including the commanding officers post which appears to be in good condition. The fort was a supply fort in the 1800s to US Army outposts. Simply a unique little piece of history if you're out in the country looking for something interesting.
