Recently updated with video screens and theatre seats, this is one of the great basketball venues in the U.S.

The field house is a place where history was made in Indianapolis. The feel you get when you step inside is amazing. You can see basketball games and the seating is great. There is a feeling of "Hoosier " when you go inside. The area is in the Bulter Univerity district which is something to see as we'll.

Bultler Bulldogs are awesome, and the newly renovated Hinkle Fieldhouse is, as well! The original building is one of Indy's most famous landmarks.

It is such a great experience to sit and watch a fantastic basketball game in this historical arena! It has had a major updates to the facility, but kept it historical feeling.

If you enjoy college basketball - you must see a game here. Too much history....and Butler plays some amazing basketball, so go catch a game.I recommend spending the extra money and buying seats in the 100 level. They are full seats and a comfortable (I'm 6'3"). I would not recommend the 300 level seats as they are bleachers. 200's do have seat backs.

This was the second time my husband and I visited the Hinkle Fieldhouse. ("Hinkle" rhymes with "wrinkle" by they way, so don't embarrass yourself by mispronouncing it, like I did!) We are fans of the Xavier Musketeers (Cincinnati) so the drive was about two hours from our house. The court is featured in the film "Hoosiers," so we had a family movie night (compliments of my husband) a couple nights before the game. The arena is extremely impressive because of it's "presence" and it's historical value. Because of the architecture, the sound travels beautifully...you can hear from the opposite side of the building, but the crowd is never deafening. It was updated before the 2014-2105 season and now features a jumbo-tron and updated bathrooms. It is an older facility, but climbing to higher sections is accessed by ramp and is therefore easily handicap-accessible. My boys have only been to Xavier's basketball stadium and were very impressed by Hinkle (despite the Xavier loss) and would like to go back. Alcohol is only sold in a specific area and a ticket must be purchased in order to access that area; I'm unclear as to whether alcoholic beverages can be brought into the stands, but definitely did not see anyone drinking beer in the stands. We were also curious to see quite a few children being pushed in umbrella strollers, but would recommend contacting the Hinkle Fieldhouse in regard to alcohol and stroller restrictions.

The renovation of the fieldhouse did not disappoint. The floor is the original floor that has been kept up impeccably. Opportunity to get close to the players since there isn't much distance between the floor and the fans.

I was able to attend a BU exhibition game and very excited to see the nostalgia of Hinkle Fieldhouse. I was told that renovations were done in the off season, which really disappointed. I wanted to see more of the natural look of the field-house as I could. But overall it looked really good, and up to date. A little disappointed but a good place to watch hoops. Would attend another game if in the area. Good luck Bulldogs!

And in Indiana, basketball is about as close as it gets to a religion. For non-Hoosiers, it should be noted that this building was built before but named after Paul D (Tony) Hinkle, legendary Butler University coach who was to Butler basketball what John Wooden (also a Hoosier) was to UCLA.For basketball fans in general, this was the site of the Big Game, the state championship in the movie "Hoosiers," which featured several other icons of 20th Century Indiana high school basketball, including Ray Crowe, coach of Indianapolis Attucks HS, the first all-African American(and undefeated) state champions, as well as broadcasters Hilliard Gates and Tom Carnegie, both members of the Indiana Basketball and Broadcasters Halls of Fame. The Fieldhouse has just undergone a thoughtful facelift and modernization, beefing up amenities (translation: rest rooms), seats, sight lines, etc. while retaining the authentic character of the facility. This is a worthwhile side trip anytime of the year, but when no one is playing in the facility you don't quite get the heart and soul of the building. It could almost be a period (early 20th Century) library, but put a capacity crowd in the seats and this place absolutely rocks!Visit length (facility only), 1 hour; with game, 2-3 hours (come early!).

We attended the very first exhibition basketball game after the renovation and enjoyed it very much. Even in the "cheap seats" we could see everything. Food and restrooms are conveniently located.

Oh, everyone needs to come visit this wonderful field house. It is beautiful! Right on Butler Campus. Parking is good, overall it is a great place to visit, and root those Butler bulldogs on!

Watching college basketball in the historic Hinkle Fieldhouse is a lot of fun. The cheerleaders are great and of course seeing Blue is fun. No alcohol is served

this fieldhouse is history all over the place. Some of the best basketball games EVER have been played in this place. Its part of the history of indiana basketball, and was in the movie ''Hoosiers" with Gene Hackman

I retired from Butler University after 25 years. So, I've had many opportunities to visit Hinkle Fieldhouse. I saw many changes to the building over the years. Butler is very good about maintaining the building, and they do their best to keep it looking like it did originally. So many special events have taken place there! The building means something different to each of the many people that have participated in events there. For me, my love for Hinkle began back when Barry Collier was coaching the men's basketball team. Good times!

Clean, new, lots of memorabilia to see Pacer history, easy access and restrooms are clean with lots of them so you are not standing in line missing game play time.
