muensterberg plaza and clock tower

This TALL structure cannot be missed as one drives through Berne on US 27. It's beautiful and adds credence to the town's Swiss heritage.

This is a wonderful landmark for the town of Berne, and it gets better every year! The grounds around it - including a splash park and flowers planted to look like Amish quilts - seem to improve every year. Love it!

This was very interesting. Quite a landmark and a great addition to the town. It certainly reminds you of the tower in Bern, Switzerland.

We found this attraction on the Berne, Indiana web site and decided to visit it. The entire Muensterberg Plaza in the middle of the town is beautifully arranged, with a splash pad in the middle (operates during summer months). The clock tower is a replica of the original 15th century clock tower Zytgloggeturm) in Bern, Switzerland, and the "glockenspiel" with 12 figurines and carillon operates every three hours, well worth seeing and recording. On a sunny day, the best time to watch is 9 a.m. and perhaps 12 noon, because in the afternoon the side of the tower with the "glockenspiel" is in the shadow (it faces Northeast).
