I was in town and had some time to kill before dinner so I decided to take a walk here and was pleasantly surprised. Great park with a nice path around the pond as well as some other paths on the other side of the creek. It was very easy to find with ample parking and just a great place to get out and get a little exercise in.

I love this park! The size is awesome and expansive. I can bring my dog (he loves it too). My children and my husband love to picnic here. On my last visit we saw a "movie in the park." I don't recall who sponsored this but it was amazing. Now... my only concern is the lake (hints the three stars). The lake is HORRIBLE! It looks like a swamp for dumping or something. Its is actually disgusting to look at. At one point this was an attraction but it has been so neglected it is a shame. The water is this nasty green color and it actually smells. Thank God the park is huge enough that you can't smell it all over.

I have been going to Freedom Park since I was a little kid. I have great memories of this place and even as an adult I go here very often. There are several fields to play soccer, ultimate Frisbee, Football, and more. The most memorable part for me though is the old train that they have there.

I was so inspired by the Art and Science playground near the train. There were colorful coverings that appeared on the ground from the sunlight. Lots of interesting and challenging things for kids.

Nicest Park in Charlotte, Lake to walk around. Playgrounds, tennis courts, basketball in other areas. Don't miss Festival in the Park if your in the area in the fall. Watch your step though lotsa geese and there land mines on the sidewalks at times.

Pond is a great place to picnic around and watch the geese and ducks, and the trail can be just a short walk around the pond or continue onto the Greenway and make it 3 miles (or so) towards uptown!

Great place to take the family. Bike and walking trails are great, clean, and well maintained. Bicycle rentals are available

I was very impressed with the park which is South of uptown Charlotte. It was clean for having so many people and dogs there. But watch where you step. You can rent bikes or just stroll around the lake which would be about a mile. Parking can be limited so you may have to use a side street.

The park is very nice. The water was a little dirty when I went. Other than the water, the park is very clean and well landscaped.

This is a wonderful park right in the middle of Charlotte. Pretty lake, great playgrounds, well taken care of. My grandkids love this park when they visit.

We went because on-line someone compared it to Central Park in NYC. That may be an exaggeration, however, the stone bridges over the Sugar Creek, trails, large trees, and a lake complete with fountain made for a nice setting. We enjoyed an hour walk on the trails, which are well laid out. Downtown Charlotte is only a matter of a few miles away, busy highway's only a couple of blocks away, but due to the wonderful location and construction of the park you would never know it. The park was lightly used at 4 pm Friday in January.

We went for our first visit to the park after we moved to Charlotte. It happened to be during the Festival in the Park. It was selected as one of Southeast Tourism Society's Top 20 Events for ... Festival in the Park. Beautiful area, lots of different areas for everyone.

LOVE IT!!!! During spring and summer we go to the park on Sunday afternoons with our little dog and just walk around and enjoy nature, people and other dogs. We sit on the benches and watch the ducks, it's just peaceful and lovely. You can walk even further by taking the Green Way Path and end up on Kings Drive and then walk around the uptown area which we do a lot of, we love to walk. I find everything perfect with this park, then of course they have that wonderful Festival in the Park in the fall and that's a great place to go.
