suprising information about interesting people and great history. something for all ages. good displays with great pictures and displays of everything from old race car to furniture and displays on polio hospital. changing exhibits keep me coming back

Great way to spend an hour in downtown Newton. Plenty to see. Great restaurants just around the corner.

Had a about an hour to kill one afternoone so being a history nut, I dropped in.One hour is not enough but in the hour I learned a lot of the history of the hour. My ancentors were some of the original settlers in Mecklenburg County (Charlotte) and this was the next area settled.Interesting about how the furniture industry started along with the settlement of religious minorities from Central Europe that I only knew a little about.One hour is not enough so I am planning on a return trip to spend at least a couple of hours here.
