I have been going there for years. I find the owners very friendly and the muscadine wine the best I have every tasted, A nice destination at the end of a scenic drive. I have also had their strawberry wine which was fantastic.

This vineyard is atrocious. We are not fans of muscadine wines, however sometimes we have been surprised, but we always love the chance to visit wineries when given the chance. We stopped by, and honestly thought it was closed down. A lot of the vines were over grown, and possibly even dead. The tasting room had been neglected, we asked for a tasting and the owner acted almost inconvenienced. He stepped to the back room and we could hear him washing our tasting glasses... The tasting consisted of 4 "wines", and were so thick and sweet, almost sour, you could barely swallow (Go to Sanctuary! They have the best muscadine wines and the staff is super friendly). The last wine to be sampled at Martin, a cab franc, had gone bad and was soured. Don't waste your time. Or your stomach.

Hadn't been in years. Chose to take the ferry over from Currituck which was a pleasant 45 ride. Martin Vineyards is minutes from the ferry dock on Knotts Island. We were there for the peach picking and not the vineyards but the peaches were plentiful and delicious. Very no frills. You pay, you pick, you leave. I like that you could drive in the orchard as well. The picnic area down by water was a very nice place to have a sandwich which we bought at the local market and a nice spot for taking pictures. Apple season is upon us!

Wow. We recently visited this winery. Like the reviewer before us, we spent 45 minutes each way on the ferry to visit the place. My husband and I were both excited about the days plans but were so disappointed! When we got there, I suppose it was the owner who totally rushed us through a wine tasting. Almost like we were wasting her time! When I made comparisons to the nearby Sanctuary Vineyards in Currituck, the woman talked about them and their wines like they were absolutely horrible. Mind you, we know the staff of Sanctuary Vineyards and happen to be continuous customers of theirs, so, personally, I found this insulting. It lacks tact to cut down other locals who help to contribute to your business by inviting you to their annual wine tasting events to market your wine.Lady, don't worry. We will never again waste your time in trying your wine or even purchasing it. The wine may have been decent, but your attitude is a total turn off.

We like to drive here to pick peaches. The wine tasting room is average. It is fine for what it is-- an orchard and a pleasant diversion.

We planned a trip to this vineyard for my sister's birthday. We called several times ahead and checked their website. We went through the hassle of driving 45 minutes from the Outer Banks to the Currituck Ferry, rode the 45 minutes, then drove to the vineyard. Once we found the shanty winery, there was a sign that they were closed because of the heat! We had even called that same morning and they said they would be open from 12-5. When the lady who works the orchard finally tracked down someone to come meet us, she acted like we were imposing and rushed through a lame wine tasting. She did share some facts and history about the local grapes but it did not make a difference at that point. This could be a nice attraction but the business is not run well. Do NOT waste your time or effort getting to this remote vineyard.

In late September every year, my husband & I take the ferry from Currituck to pick grapes at Martin's Vineyard on Knotts Island. We usually pick about 15 lbs. & they are almost all gone by the time we leave to return home to Virginia a week later. Several times we have visited in June & picked the most delicious peaches. While on Knotts Island we visit Mackay Island National Wildlife Refuge & highly recommend it to nature lovers. Wildlife is abundant which is great for anyone who enjoys photography as I do.

This winery on Knott's Island is not much to look at initially but the wines are really good considering the location and the owners are great people. My wife and I really liked the Grand Ole Osprey red wine and bought several bottles.

Enjoy the drive there...really like the fruit picking but the wine testing is fun. Not a fan of their wines

The view of the water is beautiful. A great place to have a picnic and just relax. If you are going to visit a winery skip this one. There were only 4 wines available for tasting the day we visited. We were given samples in plastic cups. The ladies working were not rude but we certainly didn't get any "warm fuzzies" from them. She was more worried about the people picking in the u-pick peach orchard coming in and letting the air conditioning out. Yes, they have a u-pick peach orchard, the website also said they had apples and grapes when they are in season, but the farm items are cash only and felt like the price were a little high. They do take credit cards for wine purchases. I did buy a bottle of SnowGeese, it was quite tasty but a little pricey. We had a nice time because we made a day of it and drove in to Virginia Beach. We didn't feel like the winery was worth the time it took to get there and there is nothing else around.
