The Fresco was fantastic! Anyone in the area who is interested in art should see it. Parking is a bit of an issue, but this is a small church, and no one minds if you park across the street!

The fresco paintings were inspiring, as was the narration. Located right off the Blue Ridge Parkway, it is worth the trip.

This is a pretty little church and the fresco of the Last Supper was beautiful! We enjoyed walking the grounds outside. There's also a really great gift shop across the street that has lots of neat international and local items.

Grandmas Attic and all the food was great for this Fall festival. Been attending for 15+ years The selection from local crafters and artists was great. From pottery, soaps to art work and jewelry, it was all there. (and priced well)

I have been making the trip to Holy Trinity for many years, and take folks along whenever we are headed close to the area. "The Last Supper" fresco, created by Ben Long, is one of the most amazing paintings I have ever seen, and I find something new every time I see it. I always find myself sitting in meditation when I am here, inspired and blessed by the painting. The scene invites the viewer to become a part of the final meal of Jesus and his disciples. Every visit here will leave the traveler blessed by the experience.

On our way to Pigeon Forge we spent the night in Glendale Springs. I'm so glad we did! We had dinner in the small restaurant across the street from the church (nothing fancy but great food cheap!). We walked across the street to the church to see the Fresco. This visit will take you back in time! We came in the side door which put us up toward the front of the church. The Fresco of the Last Supper immediately grabs your attention. It literally took my breath away! So incredibly beautiful! We looked around for a bit and headed out the back toward the vestibule when we saw the button on the wall to "hear the voice". I'm so glad we found that button! Press the button and take a seat! You'll hear a wonderful story of how the Fresco was made and hear all about the picture itself. Don't miss this! It only takes about 15-20 minutes tops. Well worth the listen!

This little church is located in the very small community of Glendale Springs, which is off of the Blue RIdge Parkway via Trading Post Road. The parking for visiting the church is across the street in a paved parking lot also serving the bakery and a really nice local crafts shop or in the unimproved grass parking area just north of the church a few feet. The set up is similar to the church in West Jefferson that houses the same artist's work. This work of art features "The Last Supper" and is just excellent. By all means sit through the recorded welcome and history of the work. The short recording goes thru each of the disciples at the Last Supper ending Thomas- who is indeed looking at everyone in the church. One of those works of art that gives you pause to reflect on our higher calling and creation. The button to start the recording is located in the small vestibule at the front of the church. Outside the church are some really nice grounds to walk around as you make your way to the basement for additional works of art. All in all, the two churches are a pleasure and an honor to sit and reflect upon the beautiful and meaningful works of art that they have opened up to the public. Highly recommended. There is no fee but a donation box in the vestibule. While there take in the crafts store across the street and the Trading Post on the Parkway.

Built in 1901, the church stood empty for 30 years before it was renovated and the frescos were added in 1980. There are actually two frescos - one in the sanctuary and one in the basement chapel both by Ben Long and his students. There is also a 1920's mosaic by John Early. We didn't realize the basement had any art work until we visited the 2nd time. The church is open all the time from what we could tell. Services are not held there every Sunday but somehow alternate between St. Mary's in West Jefferson and Holy Trinity in Glendale Springs. There is a rock grotto in the basement that holds hand thrown pottery urns. Some people might find this creepy but it really is a beautiful thing. Each urn reflects the individual personality of the person buried there. Don't miss the stone lion across the street at the mission house.

The companion to St. Mary's, this church has only the one fresco painting, but it's fabulous! The Last Supper is done in an ancient medium, but a modern realistic style. Very moving!
