Thank you for your wonderful review of Freddie's course! We are glad you enjoyed it. We tell everyone that we are worth the drive, but it means so much more hearing it from a satisfied customer. We hope you return soon.

We are truly sorry for the slow play you encountered. You were unfortunate enough to play on the hottest day of the year and have several holes of cart path only due to large amounts of rain we have had this month. One hundred degrees and cart path only does not mix. We invite you back any time to give us another try. I suggest a Sunday in the fall. Sundays have historically been a lighter day for us. The course should still be in fantastic condition and the weather will offer a better over all experience.

Thank you for the positive review. The longer, colder winter and our choice to not overseed produced a short period of thin turf on our fairways and tees. Fortunately, Mother Nature has been very kind to us since then. She has successfully helped us start to accomplish our goal of developing a thicker bermuda turf surface for all seasons. Our fairways and tee boxes have dramatically improved since April. The fairways should continue to get healthier as the night temperatures increase as well as our chemical application plan and turf building practices throughout the summer. As our fairways continue to improve, our putting surface remains fast and true. We did start our final green conversion of the Ibis course today. At it's conclusion, all three nines will finally have Champion bermuda. Aerification has been completed, and with the “Summer of Change”, we plan to have all three nines in great shape for late summer and fall business.

Thank you for your honest review. We have been experiencing thin turf conditions, mainly on our Heron course. We have been moving play to our other nines, when possible, in order to mitigate some issues. Our longer than normal winter has definitely pushed our growing season back, but we are improving daily and are positive the worst is behind us. Thanks to everyone for their reviews. We are looking forward to seeing more positive reviews soon.

May 2nd and May 8th reviewers both played our course within a week or so and had two completely different reactions to our course conditions. I speak for the entire staff at Carolina National when I say we strive to offer everyone a great golf experience. The winter was very harsh and it was near impossible to grow grass with ice on it. We seldom experience ice, but this year it happened more than once. Our conditions in April were not where we wanted them to be, but I can say our plan has not changed all year and we are improving each day. With the cold weather behind us, we are confident we are able to produce conditions worthy of a top Myrtle Beach golf course.

I speak for the entire staff at Carolina National when I say I am truly sorry you had an issue at our club. We host several thousand guests per year, and it is unfortunate when instances like this occur. We strive to offer everyone a great golf experience. We are sorry you did not have a good experience. We have experienced some problems with nine holes. The winter has affected a lot of courses in our area. However, course conditions are improving daily with the help of the warmer weather. I highly recommend trying us again. You will not be disappointed. We host several hundred golfers per day and we take it seriously when one does not wish to ever return.

Carolina National is truly sorry you had a less than satisfactory experience. It is our goal to produce a great golf experience every day of the year. With the harsh winter we had this year, our course is nearly three weeks behind our normal pace for the turf to move out of dormancy. This has produced less than favorable conditions in our fairways. Thankfully, our greens were not affected and with warmer temperatures finally here, our fairways are improving daily. It will take a few more weeks to get to where we would like to be. We appreciate feedback, but please be patient while we move through this difficult time.

Carolina National is a secret gem that is five minutes from my from home. It has delicious food on Tuesday and Friday evenings that we have tried. My husband has golfed there and he said that the course is amazing. He likes that this time of year he can get 9 holes of golf in the afternoon. My niece is also going to be using Carolina National for her wedding reception. Try it ...you just might like it.

Since Traditional Golf Properties boughht this course they have been doing many good things. The conversion from bent grass to Champion bermuda greens has gone very well and the greens are in great shape.

What a joy to play Carolina National. The staff was all helpful and friendly. The bag drop guy was very helpful in getting our carts loaded and explaining the golf course. The golf course has 3 nine-hole layouts. The golf course was in great shape and the greens were super smooth and true. The golf course meanders thru wooded areas and many of the holes are along the Lockwood Folly River with stunning views of the river and the marshlands. All in all, it was a memorable experience. One that's well worth driving up from Myrtle Beach. You won't be disappointed!

My husband and I used our Brunswick county First Tee card to play Carolina National. The course is in a planned community. We got there early and ate lunch in the clubhouse. The food was delicious and reasonable. The staff very friendly. This is a 27 hole course but they are converting the grass on the Egret course so only 18 holes available. We played the Ibis/Heron 18. Some of the holes have no houses on them. The marsh views were beautiful. We played on a Friday afternoon. The men's club played in the morning. We were able to get out a few minutes early and finished in the time requirement.
