This place was great! We spent about an hour there. It would be nice if they had an option for a guided tour but it was fun being able to move at your own pace as well.

Imagine my surprise when I discovered that 160 original Terry Redlin oil paintings were housed just 100 miles north of Sioux Falls! Having appreciated his work for years, first discovering him through his Ducks Unlimited work, I was quite happy to made a side trip up to Watertown (I flew into Sioux Falls to hunt) to spend a few hours walking though his impressive gallery. The prints and other reproductions I'd seen do not do justice to the originals. The vibrant colors, the motion of the birds and water, the look of the deer, the warmth of the homes at twilight - all evoked memories of my life and the feeling that I'd been to that place Terry had painted. The volunteer staff was exceptional, clearly they love this place and the gift shop (offering a free poster to hunters the day I went) is packed with every kind of souvenir you can imagine.A most enjoyable visit.

We went to the Redlin Center to find some hard to buy for gifts and something unique for our future daughter-in-law. Very satisfied with what we found though we were a bit challenged to fit our budget. The staff here are very friendly and extremely helpful with suggestions and holding things for us while we continue shopping.

This is truly a remarkable treasure! To be able to see the beautiful artwork of Terry Redlin in a beautiful environment is a real joy! The staff is made up of volunteers who you can tell love their job. They are so helpful and kind! The art is amazing and the display and atmosphere of the center is such a wonderful experience. This is a 'must' visit when coming to Watertown and if you live in the community, a great way to spend an afternoon more than once during the year, every year!

Whether visiting or a resident you must visit here a few times a year. When you have visitors this is a must see.

This art gallery is a treasure. Terry Redlin captures scenes from the prairie in his majestic original collection. The building and the paintings will literally take your breath away. The gallery is spread over three floors where visitors can journey down the hallways and see over 150 original oil paintings. There are two gift shops where you can buy Terry Redlin prints and collectibles. There is a Amphitheater where you can hear and see Terry talk about his life, family, and paintings. The 30 acres that surround the property is designed to reflect his paintings with prairie grasses, ponds, and wild geese. Truly a destination you should take advantage of.

Don't miss an opportunity to visit the Redlin Museum. You won't regret it. I loved the nostalgia of his work. He paints the things he loves and that he was able to share the fruits of his labor with the rest of us is truly inspiring. I left feeling grateful. Admission is free. Staff are volunteers and clearly love being a part of this gift to the community. Proceeds from gift shop sales go toward operations and keeping the doors open AND prices are reasonable.

Love spending time here as each painting tells a story of the past, the present and the future! Plan on several hours here to enjoy the beauty or the memories a painting may renew.

This is the home of Terry Redlin, the most prolific and popular artist in modern day America. It contains all of his works which are displayed in a magnificent manner within an incredible building. Also included are 2 very nice gift shops where you can buy Redlin prints and other memorabilia. A 10 minute movie on Terry's life is the starting point for your self-guided tour. Don't go to Watertown and miss this museum.

The building itself is impressive and the grounds are beautiful to stroll around on a nice day.The art gallery though is quite spectacular. With over 100 originals and many more prints it is fascinating to learn about Terry Redlin and appreciate his works. It's interesting to see how his work evolved over the years and compare the differing depths of color. The nice cream themed theatre is a real surprise (and a tribute to Terry's wife's family business) and the gift shop is not to be missed.A wonderful opportunity to learn about a very talented individual. The fact that there is no admission fee is truly amazing - what a legacy to leave!

This place is absolutely incredible. Yes, am a Terry Redlin fan and have 15 of his works in our home. But this visit was incredible. The history of his works is amazing, as was his life's story. Mr. Redlin's series on America the Beautiful is awe inspiring, but his series on His Firsts will bring you to tears. The ending story of His Last Homecoming and the tie to his wife's brother is indescribable. We spent 9 hours here - first in and last out - and bought 2 more S &N prints. The galleries and gift shops are awesome. The staff is unbelievably helpful and courteous. No cameras allowed inside, but the outer grounds are so nice for a walk. Go and visit a GREAT AMERICAN ARTIST's incredible works.

My husband and I were visiting a friend in Watertown who suggested we visit the Redlin Art Center. Neither of us is keen on art museums, but this place was an exception. It is extraordinary in every way. The first thing we saw as we entered the foyer was an elegant chandelier; that set the tone for the rest of the center. I was not only impressed by the size of the center and grounds, but also the varied collection of pieces from a very talented artist, Terry Redlin. The center is conveniently located off I-29, so travelers can access it quite easily. Beautiful!

My wife's friend had a couple of prints from this artist we had never heard of. My wife wanted some too. We went and we bought. Now we need to frame and find a place to hang one.(Yes, it is a larger print than the one her friend has.)
