The Logos Theatre & The Academy of Arts has brought back the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe again this year. I went on Saturday and was amazed! I think there are a few performances left this week. Well worth the $35 ticket. Excellent performance & amazing message.

I live several hundred miles away from the Logos Theatre. The fact that I am frequently asking myself "How can I get back there for the next production?" should say something! I was familiar with the Academy of Arts prior to visiting, but had not visited the Logos Theatre until last spring for "Narnia" and "Lions of Trondheim." I especially appreciate that while their shows are safe for the whole family, they do not sacrifice quality or message to create that safety. "Family Friendly" does not have to be synonymous with "Boring" or "Childish," and this theatre proves it! You can bring your kids to ANY production here without reservation, but you will still be wowed by the theatrics, intensity, and heart of each message. They perform classic pieces as well as original dramas; all of the plays are equally compelling and enjoyable. I must say: if you live in South Carolina or any of the surrounding states, you have one of the most incredible sources of entertainment I have ever visited in your vicinity! I've been to theatres several times larger than this one that fail to deliver the quality and entertainment that the Logos Theatre delivers in every production. You really ought to visit the Logos at least once...or twice...or more!(I have no photos, but would recommend viewing the pictures posted by other reviewers. They are pretty cool!)

I have worked here at the Logos Theatre for several years now, and I can honestly say that there is no other place quite like it. The staff that I'm privileged to work with are not only professional and experienced, but they're also incredibly friendly to patrons, cast, and crew. Here at the Logos Theatre, we strive for excellence in the performing arts. Our major productions throughout the past couple of years have included 'Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe' and 'Twelve Angry Men' as well as our own original productions such as 'Silent Star' and 'The Venture of 1620.' Each of these productions exhibited Broadway-level excellence in performance. But really, the coolest part of what we do is training young people how to use their talents and gifts in communication. We train them to be excellent communicators, and give them a safe place to hone their skills in the performing arts world. Always family-friendly, our productions inspire and challenge audiences with impactful messages that are so much more than simply entertainment.Visit the Logos Theatre and discover one of Greenville's hidden treasures.

The word about this Theatre just needs to get out!! The Logos Theatre, located in Taylors, would seem like an average "community" theatre, but it is FAR from that! Apart from being a college/internship, the headquarters for country-wide drama seminar teams, and the birthplace of an up-and-coming film company, it is also a professional drama theatre! They do everything from elaborate concerts, fantastic Christmas productions, children's plays that are top-notch, classics like "Our Town" "Little Women" & "12 Angry Men", and as well as their own original productions that are on par with anything Broadway dishes out! Don't believe me, see for yourself! www.theacademyofarts.org type that into your browser and buy yourself a ticket! But I do warn though, that during the winter & spring season is when they perform the BEST of the BEST like "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe"!! Which had a sold out crowd for ALL of its performances! It was nuts!!

For a gift for my wife, I bought tickets to the Logos Theatre production of The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe. The play was based on the C.S. Lewis book.In my opinion, such a story would be nearly impossible to adequately produce due to the imagery of the story, and the portrayal of the majestic Aslan.I found the play profoundly moving and the production value of a caliber equal to anything seen in larger metropolitan venues. It really was a great escape and the portrayal of Aslan, the good and noble lion was inspirational. For you theatre lovers who crave a quality production, with a purpose, I suggest you give The Logos Theatre a try.

I became familiar with The Logos Theatre about six years ago when they first started having productions in their theater. The theater is quaint and quite lovely since it is in an historic, renovated school building in downtown Taylors. The auditorium seats about 300 people so every seat gets you close to the stage. The usher staff is friendly and helpful. We have seen many productions here and have never been disappointed. They even sell snacks and drinks that can be enjoyed during the performances. Some of the plays and musicals feature students who are learning about theater and many of the productions feature professional actors and musicians. Even the productions that feature students are full-scale theatrical productions. I am amazed at the quality of the acting. This season they even had the world-renowned King's Singers from London in the theater. Recently we attended the Celtic Sounds concert and it was excellent. It was over two hours of beautiful music--a mix of Irish folk songs and sacred music. It was amazing and a real treat. They even had a dinner offered before the concert for an extra price. It was a steak dinner in a beautiful dining room. Very nice! This theater is a Christian organization so you can expect the productions to have Christian messages which for me is a real plus. I enjoy taking my family to an event that I know is going to "be clean" and not have any questionable content thrown in "entertainment value." (I would not recommend for babies and really small kids--they would need to be able to sit quietly through a production). I highly recommend attending an event at this theatre. You won't be disappointed!
