Mile Creek is a county park in the upstate of SC right on a lake. You can use the day facilities ($5. per vehicle) for grilling, swimming, picnics and there is a boat ramp with several slips off a dock. Restrooms are clean. Canoes and paddlewheel boats avail for rent. Best campground I have ever seen and I have traveled the country. Campground (under $30/night) is on a peninsula with a good mix of spots. Concrete pull throughs for large trailers, gravel sites on the beach and rustic tent sites. Great playground for kids, basketball court, volleyball, clean bathrooms and hot showers. Because it's on a peninsula, most sites are waterfront. Trees, privacy and incredible views of the mountains & Lake Keowee all from your campsite.Never seen a mosquito and only had an ant issue one time in the fourteen years we've been going. Best kept secret in the southeast.
