Luckily I had not read the previous review. I called the center and booked a 4 hour pontoon boat tour of the gorgeous Lake Jocassee. Our tour guide, Dylan, was knowledgeable, entertaining, and knew all the great places to take us to see the falls, and all the beautiful sites on the lake. My husband and I were the only ones on the boat and he took us on the full four hour tour. We enjoyed our tour immensely! The young man at the center was very friendly and helpful as well. I highly recommend this company! Perhaps the company has changed owners?

Don't waste your day away waiting for them to deliver your pontoon boat! Use someone else and save yourself the heart/headache.Our family reserved a full day on a pontoon back in June. We all live a little over an hour from Lake Jocassee. When the weather said it would be a glorious morning and a more rain-fraught afternoon, we decided to get there bright and early. When part of our group arrived at opening time (9 AM), they allowed us to pay for the full day then sent us on down to the dock to get the boat. The second car of the group of us also had to stop by the store and sign the paperwork and get copies of the drivers license for the drivers of the boat.We arrived at the dock to find 2 boats - both from the Outdoor Center and both already rented to other parties. We were told it would be 15 minutes (for almost 2 hours, every time we asked it was 15 minutes). At 10:30 our boat had still not arrived and yet another party had arrived to pick up their boat. A conversation with the guy who did the safety talk said this is a common occurance and he always has to take the rap from angry renters when he doesn't have any control of what the office says to you or what is actually happenening.Our boat finally arrived a little after 11. The upholstery seats had mold, the carpet was stained and moldy and the front of the pontoon boat had been run into several objects as the metal was shorn off on one of the pontoons. Lake Jocassee is spectacular! Please don't rent a boat from here. You will be disappointed and there are several other places you can call - from our experience we will not use this place again.
