We took our 2.5 yr old here just for a fun outing. The motif is based on the work of illustrator Vernon Grant, who also drew the original snap/crackle/pop characters in the 30's. Some reprints of his art are viewable in the rear of the building. I am thinking that is why they consider this a 'museum' instead of just a children's attraction. The actual play area is only 1 large room, but they really managed to pack a good amount of small fun play areas into that 1 room. Some of the different activities include a music/noise maker area, and upstairs tree house sort of area with a play table of gears, a kitchen area with all the items needed to play house, a reading area with lots of books, a half of a tall ship built into the wall that includes the wheel, a rudder you can move, a wheel to raise/lower the mast, a net to climb to ring the bell. The building used to be a bank and the original vault is still there. (Parents: look up! The beautiful carved column tops are still there an very nice!) The door is permanently affixed open and they use the inside as a dress up area. They included outfits for boys and girls. My daughter really loved the train table. They have a very large set of wood train tracks set up. The kids can crawl under it to stand up in open areas inside the track so they can access all parts of the track. There are also lots of other fun little activities like cupboards built into the walls that show pictures or have interesting things in them, puzzles, bean bag games, etc. When we first arrived I thought we would be there like 20 minutes...but ended up being there almost 2 hours! Our daughter had a great time! Few things to note before you arrive. Anyone over 1yr old pays to get in. It is currently only 5 dollars a head, so still cheaper and more fun than a movie. This attraction is really only meant for the 2-4 age range. I do believe that school age and up would be bored with the set up and overrun the small kids. Parking was a bit confusing. The museum is on a very cute main street, but parking on the street was full. We did find a parking lot behind the museum, but it was not clear which area was for museum parking vs. bank parking vs. private parking for the other shops in the area. We ended up parking down the street at the park and ride lot and doing the short walk.We had a very fun time at this place. It was nice to see our daughter interact with the other kids her age. It was a fun day trip adventure and worth the drive.

This is a great place for the kids if they are over ten this might be just a little boring for them.

First I'll say this place is not a museum. If you've been to the Discovery Place Kids facility in Charlotte, it's more or less a dumbed-down version of that. It's a place for you to take your kids and let them expend some energy. Inside, there are play areas that include a kitchen, a treehouse, a pirate ship, a train table, a dressing up room, and some other odds and end things. While our 3 year old daughter had fun, there are a number of reasons I would probably not return. First, they charge 5 dollars per person, and that includes adults. I'd say we spent about an hour there, so for me my wife and our daughter to go was $15 for my daughter to play. I really can't understand why adults are being charged, we're literally just there to watch the kids. Which brings me to my next complaint. Many adults were not watching the kids. Many of them were enthralled with their play date partners conversation, and there were a few times where I had to reprimand a strangers child who was running around with a broom stick, threatening to hit other kids with it. Simply, this isn't a place for you to dump your kid and take a break, parents need to be responsible for watching the children. Another thing that kind of bothered me was that they have a sign that says no outside food or drink, and my wife who was 38 weeks pregnant at the time had a capped water bottle with her, and one 2 occasions was asked to put it away. Call me old fashioned, but if you see a woman who is that far along in pregnancy, I wouldn't make a big deal about her having a water bottle. It wasn't the most pleasant of experiences, and the biggest problem was kids running around without supervision. Overall, I probably won't come back, and seriously, please stop charging for Adults. There's nothing for them there, it's for the kids.

I have been here about more that a half a dozen times. I bring my grandchildren who happily play here for hours! There are many attractions for them: Thomas the train and many tracks, a pumpkin house with lots of stuffed animal puppets, a kitchen with dishes and such, a tree house with animals, dress up area, a rope and pulley area, a pirate ship and so many other cute little play things to mention. It is usually quiet here and the restrooms are clean and child friendly.

This museum may be small in comparison to other museums, but it is great for toddlers. There are plenty of activities to keep them busy for a couple of hours including stuffed animals/puppets, a pirates ship, wooden train set, dress-up area etc.

This is more of a toy or playroom. Not a museum. Children were just running around random...it was not what we expected.

Think children's museum on a small scale. This is not one of the mega museums - it is very small (you can see most of the room from anywhere else) and is made for tiny ones. Mine had the best time there from 1-3 years. Cute little dress up area, kitchen setup, treehouse, etc.

This is a small children's' museum, but its new and very artfully done with a very nice connection with the artist who created the snap crackle pop characters for Rice Krispies.

Very nice museum for children.. really more for smaller children, interactive play, they also have a room you can rent out for birthday parties. Great addition to downtown Rock Hill.

We took two girls aged 5 and 4 to the Children's Museum. At first I thought there wasn't enough to do, but then they really got into it. There are lots of interactive displays, a kitchen, a dress up room, a big train set, a ship, a hopper that dumps bean bags, etc. We were pleased and the kids had a ball.

This is a great place for children who are 18 mos. through 7 or 8. Plenty to do, but not overwhelming. I've been twice with different sets of kids, and they all loved it. I love that I can sit and watch them and not move from place to place.

I took my neice (4 years old) and nephew (1 year old) to the museum and they had a blast. It is more of a children's play area then a museum. They have dress up clothes to spark the imagination, a play boat and tree house to go up in and numerous other play areas. The 4 year old had a wonderful time and there were blocks and items that I could use to entertain the 1 year old during this all. There was attentive staff watching over the children and the area is closed off so they cannot leave without their guardian.I will visit again the next time I have children to entertain!
