Small town Elloree, SC showcases a gem of an attraction in J's Tea-rific Teapot Museum. Local pharmacist Mr. Boland has collected (it all started with his gift of a teapot to his wife) and now shares his passion for all-things-teapot through a space which is shaped like, what else, a teapot! Open 11:00 am - 5:00 pm Wednesday,Thursday and Friday, the collection is mind-boggling in sheer numbers of teapots as well as the clever ways they are displayed -- by color, material, theme, subject matter, size, manufacturer, country of origin, and usage. This unique "little" museum is a not-to-be-missed showcase of one man's passion for teapots, plain and expressive. Mrs. Boland is the teapot museum's gracious guide.

J’s Tea-rific Teapot Museum2732 Cleveland StreetElloree, SC 29047803-897-2133Located behind Boland Pharmacy in downtown Elloree (Exit 98 on I95 to SC 6) you will find the obsession of one man and what must be one of the world’s most supportive spouses. Mr. Boland has collected literally thousands of Teapots (I’m hearing 5000 +/-) over the years and has created a Museum with a most unusual entry to display his ‘treasures’. You enter through a very large blue Teapot shaped room addition to find a collection like few others. Rooms are lined from floor to ceiling with teapots of every design and material imaginable. Some you will recognize; however I’m willing to wager you have not nor will you ever see most ever again. The collection has taken over a large portion of his building and I’m told he has several thousand more that are not on display at the museum. They are displayed well (wife hand evident in this) and you can go thru the exhibit several times and each time you will see something different. We spent an hour (you can take more or less) and enjoyed seeing so many different and unusual teapots. It’s not for everyone’s taste; however, even if you have no interest in teapots, you should stop in to take a look. This is definitely a part of small town USA that should be appreciated and supported. It’s supposed to be open Wednesday to Friday from 11:00AM to 5:00PM; however, I would definitely recommend you call ahead to be sure they are open during the times advertised. Donations are accepted.

While vacationing in Santee, SC, we took a drive to Elloree about 6 miles away. We found the neatest attraction--a teapot museum. There are over 3,000 teapots from all over the world on display. Some are categorized by Noah's Ark, the President's Corner, The Bridal and more. It is open on Wednesday thru Friday 11 til 5. The owners have been collecting for over 20 years, They are a delightful couple who love to talk about their teapots. It was a charming adventure for both of us. Visit and you won't be disappointed!

Waren heute im Teapot Museum. Habe noch nie so eine grandiose Auswahl gesehen. Und die Inhaberin super nett. Alles erklärt und erzählt von wo die alle herkommen. Wirklich ein Besuch wert.
