Wonderful. Amazing. Delicious. Caleb welcomed us right as we walked in. We were traveling across country with our two kids (8 and 2) plus a dog and they were all too accommodating for all. The weather was gorgeous (70 in Nov!) so we sat outside while the dog and kids ran around the property. Caleb came outside each time to serve our next pour. JC and other staff members all stopped and welcomed us to the estate. Could not be more impressed with the service AND wine. My husband and I are currently into Malbec's and all their wine (including their Malbec) was delicious; not one complaint. The tasting room sits on top of a hill so you can see how the vineyard sits right below the mountain which is absolutely b-e-a-utiful! Thank you for an amazing first experience in Washington wine country.

My mom and I took a quick overnight trip to Walla Walla for wine tasting. Neither of us had visited Basel Cellars in the past, but after hearing great things about the wine and scenery, we decided to make this our first stop. Boy am I glad we did! Being a Tuesday early afternoon in the "off season" we had the entire place to ourselves for over an hour. Kaleb made our tasting quite enjoyable. He functioned as a photographer, educator and a tour guide of the GORGEOUS home that can be rented out by vacationers. We were able to purchase cheese and crackers and take our time enjoying the lovely wines. The view is spectacular. This winery is a MUST-VISIT when touring the Walla Walla area.

My husband surprised me with the "BEST" birthday of my life! Simply amazing staff from the father and son hospitality duo to the warm and friendly tasting room staff. Big thanks to (Ned Morris and the cellar crew) some of the most amazing wine in the valley! Beautiful... thanks again to all look forward to returning next year. Sincerely Mr. & Mrs. May ( Lakewood, WA )

We have never visited Basel before as our fiend is a very accomplished wine maker and told us that they were having wine making issues . However he told us the wines were improving and we should try them . He wipes right , the wines are getting better, athe winery and grounds are lovely and the service staff is nice .Hope they continue to make progress !

By far the most beautiful location for a winery I've seen. High up on a hill overlooking the Blue Mtns. in the distance with the vineyards close in, the winery looks like a mansion. The tasting selections are very nice and diverse. The tasting fee is waived if you buy a bottle. Although the area is known more for its red wine, I enjoyed the 2901 white and bought a bottle. Linger a little bit with your tastings and enjoy the spectacular view in good weather in the outside seating area.

This was such a relaxing place to visit. They have nice seating outside overlooking the vineyard. Great wine tasting. It is definitely a place you should check out.

Beyond horrible wine tasting experience. Everything about it was cold. The wine, and especially the people serving the wine. My friend and I felt like a complete nuisance standing there and couldn't wait to finish the tasting. Just plain awful.

We drove up just to look over the buildings and grounds. They are even more spectacular up close than when viewed from the highway. Beautifully designed and executed, the structures reminded both my wife and me of Timberline Lodge on Mount Hood in Oregon. Worth the drive. I have no knowledge of their wines. Can't get to all of them!

This was the greatest wine tasting/tour/lunch I have ever experienced. We met with Ned, the wine maker who gave us a fantastic tour of mansion/cellar-So amazing. This was the most perfect day ever! Woody put on a great lunch for us. What a special day with delicious wines!!!!!!! I cant wait to come back someday. Thank you!!!!

Please Please come come; and they did. 200+ The entire weekend of lovely estate, grounds and hospitality was outstanding. Josh and his staff made the bridge/groom's event seemless and exciting for everyone in attendance. The devil is in the details, and Basel Cellars didn't miss a thing. For any type of experience, just a day of wine, a corporate event, or the most important date so far...your wedding....don't miss this "castle" on the hill!

Caleb was very nice. Wines were good. But the winery building was beautiful perched on a little hill. The long winding driveway up enhanced the suspense.

We are from Switzerland, and each year we visit an area which produces wines. This year (2014), we decided to visit a number of wineries in Walla Walla, immediately after the Spring release weekend. Basel is a famous town in Switzerland, and for this reason we included Basel Cellars Estate Winery in our schedule of visits. We were very impressed by the stunning location of Basel Cellars and its immediate surroundings. No other visitors were present when we arrived in the tasting room. We were welcomed by Sarah,Tasting Room and Wine Club Manager, who conducted the tasting. She looked marvellously after us, and answered our numerous questions to the point. We found her very attentive and helpful. All the wines we tasted, on this particular visit, were of good quality, structure and character, with considerable aging potential. We left Basel Cellars Winery, one hour later, entirely satisfied with our experience and visit. Thank you Sarah

Staff was very pleasent and socialable. Sarah helped us at first and she was great. She had to help the tour bus group, so to our surprise, Ned the head wine maker just happen to stop by. We had a great time talking with him and tasting some great wines (purchased some). The whole staff was very nice. The grounds and view added to a great visit. The other three wineries we visited we nice and had some very good wines, but Basel was the most enjoyed of the four.
