My husband and I drove this route when we were in Winthrop. It is pretty, but not as pretty as the Methow Valley drive. The route is short and worthwhile.

We stayed in this region and took the loop a couple of times. It is also right by the trip to Sun Mountain which has horseback riding in the summer up further on the mountain. Nice short drive to see farms and the twin lakes are pretty.

This is a little gem nestled in the Cascades. Its old cowboy style is all around in the stores, hotels, restaurants, walk ways etc. It is a pleasure to walk along and take in all the different buildings, visit the Museum go down by the river, enjoy a home made ice cream. Several hotels or RV parks to chose from, everyone should go take a walk back in time there.

This town is a walk back in time, lots to see and do. Good food, bars, hotels, camping and best of all your 4 legged friends are welcome lots of places. It's a must do!

My partner & I visited Winthrop in our motorhome. We camped at the Pine Near RV site which was very clean and all the staff were considerate & helpful. My partner had a broken foot and the camp hostess 'phoned around and arranged a wheelchair for use during our stay. We are extremely grateful to Larry the ex Mayor for the loan of the wheelchair. We offered payment but were told this was part of the service of the small friendly town. If only there were more places like Winthrop! Rob S

Lovely scenery and lots of interesting sites along the way. Winthrop is well worth the visit. Great little theme town.

We traveled this twice, two different days looking for animals and seeing the sights. We thought we might like to come back and camp at Big Twin Lake!
