central washington agricultural museum

This agricultural museum is significant in my families' history as they were a part of the valley's agricultural growth. In fact, my grandfather made the first apple washer that is now located there. Dad tells about pull hair from the horses tails to make the brushes in it. My dad helped to put together this museum way back in its beginnings so I have been there numerous times and so proud of it.All in all, this is a must see museum if you are interested in local history. A good place for kids as they can run around outside.

I've lived in the area all my life. I had heard of the Agricultural Museum many times, but never had I gone to visit. I'm so glad that my husband had a work event in Fullbright Park. The museum is tucked in behind the park, and the moment my 4 kids saw it, they had to go.First admission is by donation only, so I wasn't so concerned about going in only to find my twin 4 year old boys couldn't behave and having to quickly leave. That wasn't the case though. My 4 year olds loved it just as much as my 8 year old son. And my 11 year old daughter and I had a great time too.There is a lot to see. There is a walking tour, as well as a driving tour. There are some buildings normally kept lock, however there is a sign on the door that says they will open by request. We did the walking tour, and with little hands chose to look through windows.This was not just an amazing walk through agricultural history, it was a history of the valley and the daily life of people in it. There was a silo, several original settlement buildings, covered wagons, all with a recreation of life at that time. My kids were as mesmerized by tractors as they were old fashioned washing machines and the saw mill.We spent well over an hour there, and my kids weren't ready to leave at all. I dug out as much cash as I had on hand to place in the donation box, it was that good!
