We have a cabin close to the Guilemot Cove Nature Preserve. Plenty of trails to walk thru a pretty pristine area with second growth woods after being heavily logged a 100 years ago. There are some trees that are 300 years old. Lots of birds and wildlife. Trails are somewhat maintained but creature comforts for the hiker are limited....ie: no outdoor toilets. Because of the heavy beaver activity, Boyce Creek has been diverted over the past few years and runs heavily outside it's old course.....so many marshy areas and you need boots to get around if you are heading toward the old beach house on the water. The Sawmill Trail is a great hike from the parking lot....but it is a long trek back to the car from the beach area. Great views of Hood Canal and the Olympics. Do yourself a favor and eat at Smokin' Robinsons BBQ at the Newberry Hill Chevron station at Newberry Hill and Seabeck Hwy. Excellent food!

The trails themselves are pretty good leads you down to the beach, the beach was blocked by the marshy wetlands we could not access it through any of the trails on the map which was a big dissappointment. The abandoned house looks like a user house, they should tear it down. If your near the area worth the trip, if not from the area not worth the trip.
