When I first went to tripadvisor for attractions in Mount Rainier I thought "wow, there is hardly anything at this park". I think Myrtle Falls is one of those points of interest that deserves a separate listing on tripadvisor. The reason is because you don’t have to hike the Skyline or Golden Gate Trail to see Myrtle Falls. The falls is at the beginning of the Golden Gate and the Golden Gate runs counterclockwise. This means the trail starts at the end of the parking lot next the entrance of Paradise Inn. So, if you are walking out of the inn, go to the right and the steps are pretty much right there. It is easy and short, about 1/8 of a mile up the Golden Gate Trail. At the bridge you will hear the falls. The paved steep path leads downward but not too far. The rest of these falls can be seen on Paradise Loop road. So, if you are leaving Paradise Inn (it is one way leaving), then just down the hill on the left is the rest of Myrtle Falls coming through a narrow gorge. Grab a parking spot to the left or right.
