The town of Bodie was once at the site of a prosperous gold mine. However, little remains of the past glories. Instead, a handful of dilapidated buildings straddle a small country road. Visitors can explore both Bodie Creek, and the buildings, at their own risk. The most intact building is two stories tall, and is missing key parts of the second floor. The surrounding grass is tall, so protect your legs accordingly. It is a thoroughly enjoyable place to leisurely explore, and a perfect setting for some amazing photographs.
