Very beautiful and worth taking the time to visit the North Unit of the Theodore Roosevelt Park. One of the most scenic spots in western North Dakota.

In Watford to spend time with my honey who is working there and it was such a pleasure to go and see the beautiful scenary from the Bend. It was covered with snow and the view was breathtaking.

1- "River Bend Overlook" is an overlook about eight miles into the North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park.2- No your assumption is incorrect.... Wind Canyon is in the South Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park (about 73 miles away).3- The entrance to Theodore Roosevelt National Park's North Unit is about 17 miles south of Watford City (U.S. HWY 85 mm 127).4- Whoever listed the website as ND State Parks apparently doesn't know what "National" means! I will try to make the corrections by notifying Trip Advisor.

I drove up to the north unit (note - the road is busy due to the energy boom there). Once in the park, however, there is peace and quiet. The North Unit of Theodore Roosevelt National Park is amazingly beautiful. One of the things of many to see there is the River Bend Overlook.

I assume this is referring to the Wind Canyon trail, a loop that takes you to the Ox Bow overlook of the little Missouri River. The view was amazing. It didn't hurt that about 50 bison had crossed the road in front of us and were visible from the overlook. Don't miss this one!
