This was suggested to us as the first winery we should visit because the basic wine education you get here preps you for the rest of your trip. The tour of the grounds and winery is beautiful and builds a basic foundation for understanding wine making - our tour guide, John, was great and answered all our weird questions. After the tour, there is a lovely tasting room where you get some basic education on how to taste (including if you don't like it, don't drink it). The wine was good (not our favorite, but not bad), the whole experience was welcoming and unassuming, and we had a great time.

Learn how Napa Valley became legendary and the detailed process of wine making here. The vines all around you are breathtaking in this architecturally enriching guided tour of the winery. It concludes with a formal sit-down tasting. Very cool experience and one of the best wineries in Napa Valley!

Mondavi was one of our last stops before we headed out. The grounds were beautiful and clean. I really liked how they had different areas for tasting and the option to just buy a glass and sit outside to enjoy the view! Very nice stop.

We took the Exclusive Cellar tour with John our amazing tour guide. We had so much fun laughing with him while tasting the finest wines. The actual tasting room is intimate with a glass wall showing the barrel room. We toured during off season which gave us more one on one with guide. Thanks John, we will visit again.

We had a great time with our party. Dick did a great job of taking in our questions and teaching the party. Nothing like an informative tour with a shot of humor to go with it!

Such a large winery, but made us feel at home. Tour was perfect and we purchased the cheese tray and sat outside and enjoyed the afternoon with wine. Such a wonderful time!

We were welcomed by Joy, one of Mondavi's wini expert, which she led us to a short tour and to our exclusively tasting room. I recommend booking your exclusive tasting time with a plate of cheese, because you are more comfortable to ask questions and drink on your time. Joy was a spectacular teacher, and we had a great time at Mondavi!

Travelling to CA from Sweden you have to visit a winery in the Napa valley and i think we picked the one to our taste. We paid our 30 dollars for a 90 minute tour with tasting at the end of the tour. Our tour guide was Joy and she taught us more about wine in 90 minutes then i have learnt in my 53 years. If you are thinking about doing a tour do the Robert Mondavi Winery you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I took a day drive out of San Francisco to visit Napa. I must admit we are not "big time wine drinkers" and we wanted an introductory wine experience. After stopping at three other wineries, looking around a bit and leaving, we feel like we hit the jackpot at Mondavi! We walked in with no prior appointment (bad plan, I know) and saw that they offered a 30 minute self guided tour for $20 and of $30 an hour and a half tour including a short stop for a summary of the history of the Napa Valley (of which Mondavi was a big part); a tour of the vineyard, processing rooms, wine press, and fermenting rooms; and then followed by a tasting class in which you received lessons in wine tasting of three different wines. We chose the longer tour and had a great time. Joy, our guide, was entertaining, knowledgeable, and had a knack for clear explanations. The winery was large and impressive. I've read that it was touristy, but let's face it, we are tourists. I walked away feeling that I had gained knowledge and I am now a "graduate of the Mondavi wine tasting school"! I would recommend scheduling the tour in advance. We went on a Saturday at the end of January and just lucked out that we were able to join a tour.

The grounds are lovely. They have concerts here in summer. They also have special dinner events. I love their white wines. When I'm with my girlfriends, we always stop here. Take a stroll around and check the place out.

We reserved the '4 Decade tasting & Dinner package'. We were welcomed upon our arrival in the parking lot by our host : Peter, who was with us trough out the Tour, the tasting and the dinner. We started with the Tour of the winery. Then, we went in a special room in the Cellar where we experienced 4 unbelievable wines. We started our tasting with a young 2003 Cabarnet Sauvignon Reserve, then we moved on to an absolutely fabulous 1993 Cabarnet Sauvignon Reserve. Then, we experienced a very mature 1984 Cabarnet Sauvignon Reserve and we crowned off our tasting with a perfect 1979 Cabarnet Sauvignon Resetve. All 4 wines were a treat for all of us. Then we moved to the dinning room where we were hosted by a succulent 5 course meal again paring with new wines 2011 & 1995 Cabarnet Sauvignon Reserve and a Chardonnay 2012 Reserve and we were also able to finish off our bottles that we used in the wine tasting . In all we had at least 8 different wines and 10-11 bottles.. It was a fabulous evening. I would recommend this evening to anybody who wants to celebrate a special Occasion or just wants to taste fabulous wines in great company. We truly felt Robert Mondavi's passion for wine, wine making, Arts but most of all his passion for life and family. Salute alla vità!

We started at the Mondavi winery to get our feet wet with the wine tasting. The tour was a basic tour but helped us get an idea of the wine making process. It's pretty touristy and a bit grand (I much prefer smaller wineries) but was a good place to get started. If you are looking for a "knock your socks off" tour, check out the Hendry Vineyard tour!
