A nice history of the town of Temecula. Great displays of historical artifacts and detailed explanation of the history of the area. A small donation gets you entry. You can take as little or as much time as you want based upon how much reading you enjoy while viewing their displays. Definitely worth the visit.

The Temecula Museum is very well run and the amount of photos they have from the cattle days of Temecula is amazing. This is a great family day that wont break the bank

Well thought out and well worth a visit. The history and exhibits were interesting and well worth an hour or so to go through. Make this your first stop and then you will appreciate the changes the Old Town has gone through over the years!

When in Temecula visit Old Town and stop by the museum to learn about it's history. Changing exhibits and someone to ask questions.

We liked the pictures , film and written items regarding the local history. There was not a lot there, but what was there was interesting.

This museum is very good. It tells all about the Temecula valley and takes you through the Mexican era forward until today. Has a great amount of history that I did not know existed. Upstairs is a huge post card display from many years ago from traveled European countries. It is very well done and displayed. They have a special section upstairs devoted to author Erle Stanley Gardner who wrote Perry Mason and was a resident of Temecula for 35 years. The gift shop is nice and the people there are very knowledgeable about the local history. It is near Old Town and a good place to stop and learn. It is located in a beautiful park. Close to shopping and eating right close to I15. No fee but you can leave a $2 donation.

If you want to know more about the Temecula Valley, the Temecula Museum is the place to go. Within its walls is the history of Temecula and the lives of pioneers and cowboys who settled the area in the mid to late 1800's. The museum is small but quaint.

Spent almost two hours here, very interesting with lots of historical photos, artifacts, etc. We were greeted by a very knowledgeale docent who showed us around and answered all our questions on what to see and where to eat in old town.

Docent Guided Tour is a must & the Grizzly Bear Exhibit ... learned a lot! Did not know the State of California Flag was a throw back to all the hunters, etc... who basically killed off the Grizzly Bears into Extinction.

The museum is very small, but well laid out. There is even an area where kids(or adults) can try on period costumes and sit on a horse statue. There are varying special displays and lots of old west artifacts and history. There is even an area with information about Earl Stanley Gardener who was a resident of Temecula.

We met at the museum for a walking tour of Old Town. The two hour tour was full of history and some great stories. Many of the buildings still remain. Some like the bank, which is now a restaurant, allow you inside to look around. People with us lived in Temecula and didn't know some of the goings on. Meet on Saturday at 10 am. Check with museum for schedule. I don't think it happens every weekend. The cost is $2.

Awesome experience for third graders in the museum. However, kids needed more time to look at the exhibits on their own on the first floor. The information was too detailed for the kids and need to be paired down. Our docent did not speak loud enough. The talks on the walking tour could not be heard because of the soft voice of the docent and traffic/construction noise.

They asked for a donation on $2. which is vey reasonable. 2nd floor is more hands on and great for kids.
