Love taking visitors here and found out a lot of locals don't know it exists either. Great to learn how the valley was settled and all about Murphy pass. If you get there during apricot season, even better and you get a change to taste the locally grown fruit. Volunteers are all very helpful.

We visited friends in Sunnyvale who took us to the Museum which found very interesting. It told the history of the "Murphy Family " also Moffett Field. The museum had collected a lot of very interesting pieces which we found great fun. And to top it was the person playing the grand piano in the back ground. Well worth a visit for locals and tourist.

The museum is housed in a replica of the home of one of the first wagon trains members to cross the Sierra Nevada into California; the history of the family and early California is really exciting to me as a local. Just outside the museum is an excellent display on the fruit industry which made us "The Valley of Heart's Delight" for many years before this was "Silicon .Valley" In summer, excellent fruit is grown on site and available for purchase. A man-made lake and nice landscaping within the same park make it a good place for a brief exercise walk, too.

It's very well done..lots of history of this area and nice exhibits and events. Surrounded by orchards lends to the ambience with old machinery out in the orchard. Friendly docents.

I went when it was hot, which dulled my interest in most everything. And several of the buildings were closed, so that was kinda boring too. We went in for free, so I wasn't upset that I had to pay and then saw so little. But be aware that if it's hot, this place isn't A/C....
