Kathleen set up a ride for my son and I in the Santa Ysabel Wilderness Preserve that was absolutely stunning. The horses were perfect, we enjoyed getting to know Kathleen and most of all, we had a fantastic time enjoying the natural beauty around us.

To sum up the experience we had on a late December afternoon, safe and relaxing! Kathleen was welcoming even though we arrived late afternoon, and selected two very gentle and friendly horses for us. She came with us and answered all our questions with great background on the ranch and the local area. She clearly loves what she does, and the guests and the horses sense it! If you have never ridden or have experience, this is the place.. Just to spend time in such a beautiful setting is worth the drive to Julian!

We visited thr ranch back on 11/9 when we stayed @Wikiup B&B . Kathleen and the rest of the staff were VERY friendly. We had to wait a little around thr ranch for the next ride. But we got to look around and meet the horses. We learned that all the horses there are rescued. Each horse has its story and it was nice to know there's a place like Kenner Ranch. All the horses were nice/friendly and you can tell they are very much loved. We got to see bobcat and deer while on the ride. It was worth the $50. Thank you all @ Kenner Ranch we will be back.

Hey kathleen,I have never met a person like you, who takes care of the horses with so much love and care as if they are your childs:-). I could really see and feel that the horses live a wonderful life and that they are happy. The ride was super and landscape beautiful!! I'm glad that we came today to your wonderful ranch, but also a bit sad because i already miss my little paint horse wally with whom i fell in love immediately! My husband surprised me for my birthday and took me to Kenner Ranch for an hour and a half horseback ride. This was my first horeback riding experience and Kathleen could not have been more helpful and knowledgeable. The horses are all very friendly and the ride through the Julian scenery was beautiful. We even saw a deer and some quail! Highly recommended.

Kathleen, the hostess was excellent. We got lost and could not find the Ranch, she called us, directed us and finally came to pick us up from the location we could find. She is so nice to us, she offered sunscreen that we forgot to bring, she knew how to help both of us that we relatively new in riding.Kenner ranch is absolutely beautiful, we saw deers, birds. The horses, Sunshine and Foxy were very relaxed so we got a smooth ride. Later my daughter and I met other horses and even fed them with carrots. Truly amazing experience to be back.

Our hostess, Kathleen, was fabulous in selecting the horses for my family-- all three of us are at different levels-- and then taking us on a beautiful ride through the Kenner Ranch. She was knowledgeable about the area, thoughtful about our different riding abilities and overall, a great person to spend a morning with. If you want a fun and relaxing horse-riding experience, visit Kenner Ranch. You will NOT be disappointed-- we plan to be back!!!!

Took my husband on his first ever ride. Kathleen was wonderful in explaining the dos and donts. We had a great ride that lasted about 90 mins. Sunshine and Foxy were too cute. Thanks for a fun morining!!

Whether you are a total greenhorn with horses (like myself) or an accomplished trail rider, you will have a truly great time at Kenner Ranch.The owner, Kathleen Kenner, loves her job and it shows in the way she treats her horses and her customers. It is evident that the horses are well fed, exercised and cared for. She takes great care in questioning her customers, before the ride, to ascertain their horsemanship skill level, than selecting just the right horse for that person. And, take it from me, who has no riding skill level, she chose just the right horse for me, which made a huge difference during our two hour trail ride. Thank you Sunshine! On the other hand, my wife who is an accomplished rider, was given Gabe to ride, who tested her riding skills, in the best way.The two hour ride over the grounds of the Ranch was just the right amount of time (although a one hour ride is available). The Ranch trails are beautiful, with oak trees, open meadows, a stream and some lovely hills to traverse.If you are in the mood for horseback riding through lovely country with a lovely guide, this is the place for you.

What a perfect way to start our morning after camping near Julian. We were welcomed into the Kenner Ranch as if we were long time friends. My son had never been on a horse before and Kathleen Kenner was patient, knowledgable and wonderful company on the ride. The scenery along the trails was spectacular. The horses were very well taken care of and absolutely beautiful. Before starting on the trails, Kathleen took the time to teach us the basics of riding. Although the Ranch is difficult to find because there are no signs, once you arrive, expect a relaxing, soothing and fun experience. My son and I will frequent this place any time we find ourselves near Julian again.

Spent the better part of the day with Kathleen Kenner on her horses and really had a wonderful time. We trailered the horses to an area about 20 min from her farm and then rode for hours in the woods out to beautiful meadows. Very relaxing and peaceful. Her horses are real horses that require skill and not just ones trained to follow the leader. Kathleen has great knowledge of the area and was a wonderful person to chat with along the way.

Perfect choice! This was a wonderful location to ride among oaks and pastures with cows and a windmill. The owner, Kathryn, let us be involved as much or as little as we wanted and we learned about horse behavior and tack, as well as how to really ride instead of mounting a preprogrammed horse. We learned a few new things even though I've owned a horse in the past and my new-to-riding husband had an equally pleasant experience. We asked to brush our horses after our ride and it was wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxed and realistic, and the property was lovely. It was so very close to town and we intend to do this again!

Kathleen and family were the most welcoming people we have ever met. We spent 3 hours with the family enjoying their beautiful property and learning all about their family of horses. We had the best time riding and felt very safe with Kathleen. The trails were incredible and the horses were amazing. We would (and will) go back to the Kenner Ranch. The experience was very personal and we felt like we were accepted as part of the family. It is a wonderful place for people of any age to visit.Kendra & Pablo
