The place was a change of scenery from Boreal to Squaw Valley. It took my impression a notch higher, most definitely. So it's not surprising if your bill will go higher as well. It's worth it anyway. There are many shops to choose from and you can either stay in a hotel or the lodges, depending on your preference. Coffee shops are available and restaurants are strategically located. Bring extra cash for souvenirs. Make sure you have your photo taken in the Olympic logo visible in the ski entrance area. You'll enjoy this place for sure!

We enjoyed the intermediate and expert runs and would recommend this resort for accomplished skiers. There are some runs for beginners but not many.

Their snow totals are misleading. Even after the storm, there are many obstructions, rocks, and marginal snow at the bottom of the ski area. At $104 a day for skiing, you are better off going elsewhere such as Sugar Bowl where they have much more snow. Traditionally, squaw's best runs are on the bottom of the area such as red dog and kt22. On these lifts there are only a few ways down due to lack of snow, even after the storm last weekend. If you are an intermediate skier, the upper mountain has great coverage, but for me that boring real fast.

Squaw Mountain is so big even if there's a lot of people it doesn't seem crowded. You have many option of green, blue and black trails and the funitel is awesome, you are not seating outside on the chair lift. From there you can take other open chairlifts but you are already up in the mountain. The trails are wide so it makes it easier to come down.

I know the skiing conditions depend on the weather, which is not something a ski area can control. Having said that, I am offended at paying full price for a lift ticket when over half the mountain is closed. To add insult to injury, most of the on-mountain amenities (i.e. bars and restaurants) were closed! And this was peak season...I was also unimpressed with the quality of the lifts, most were antiquated.Bottom line - I found Squaw Valley to be terrible value for money, and recommend skiers go elsewhere.

We skied Squaw Valley this past February. It truly is a beautiful area with a ton of lifts and runs for all skiing abilities. Be warned though, there is not a lot of snow, many runs were closed. There were a lot of exposed rocks. Great green and intermediate runs. Lift operators and employees in upper chalets friendly and helpful. The village at bottom of hill had a lot of variety too; restaurants, cafes, shops etc. Its a perfect place, it just needs more snow.

Second trip to Squaw which is a great mountain, with all types of terrain. For the beginner you get a unique experience by having your runs at the top of the mountain. You take a Gondola up, ski great runs, see amazing views..even Lake Tahoe from up there...and wide open expansive runs. My rating for my 2015 trip was only rated as Very Good and that is because there really was no snow. Very disappointing to travel so far and spend so much money to ski and have to do it on mostly man-made stuff. If that hadn't been the case I would have easily scored this as Excellent. My tip - watch the snow reports. If there is lots of snow, which hasn't happened for the last two-years, you will want to book your ski trip here.

We skied in the Gold Coast to High Camp area the week of 2/23/15. Most of the trails were groomed and the snow was powder. There were some patches of low snow but overall it was pretty good. The lift & tram staff were very friendly and helpful. We like Squaw Valley...keeping our fingers crossed they get snow this weekend!

Squaw has more lifts than any other Tahoe ski area. This results in shorter lift lines. Employees were very helpful. My kids took the ski school program and had lots of fun. The outside decks are great when it's warm and sunny. Love this mtn

Squaw is a really nice ski resort - well designed with efficient lifts and simple trail maps to follow. Many choices for all levels of skier - nice to see the greens are high up and easily accessible too.... The food and drink options are really good - in my view better than Northstar....Snow making could be increased as there were a few brown spots over a few areas - its hard when Tahoe has been in a drought from Mother nature but as its high up and with increased snow making it would be excellent....The prices could be reduced to reflect the poor snowfall - but thats said there were high number of trails open....One downside was the $39 lift ticket to visit the top if you were not skiing - seemed expensive to me...

Great resort with a well thought out lift system making steeps and chutes LIFT accessible! Nice base area not overly tricked out or touristy. The vertical is not as big as some but the trerrain makes up for it. Would be nice ski place for the family.I am going back when they have snow!

Not enough snow making this year. Limited runs open because of a poor rainy season. Better ski options at Northstar.

Very nicely run ski area with green runs up high, well groomed and plenty of fast lifts.Good selection of runs for all levels of skier, even when the snow was limited.

We came up to ski for the long weekend but there's not enough snow to enjoy the skiing conditions. The weather is very warm ! People are wearing shorts and tee shirts. The lift tickets are do expensive and should be on sale because of the conditions.
