Zoom! My 5-year old daughter loved zooming down both the innertube hill and the alpine slide. The man made snow was fluffy and soft and during the week, it was not crowded. On Saturday and Sunday, it was very crowded. The snow tends to turn into mashed potatoes by midday, so it is worthwhile to get there when it opens.

The lines were very long, but we had fun. We hung out in the building while the kids played. Seemed a little over priced

We have kids and part of our motivation for going to Big Bear was for them to do some sledding. Alpine Slide has tubing with an all day pass for $30. The advantage of tubing here or some other places is they have a moving sidewalk that takes you up hill so you aren't trudging up the hill or steps. They also make artificial snow, so even though the high was around 60, we could still tube. Conditions weren't great, but we all had a blast. I would recommend water resistant pants, especially if it's colder out. We also did the bobsled track they have and that was a lot of fun, though not sure if it's worth the $5-6 a ride. For those not inclined to winter sports, there is mini-golf. They have go karts, but the track is a small trianglish shape that would be great for younger kids, but older kids and adults might find it boring. The tubing alone makes it worth it. We stayed within walking distance, but you can walk to Bear Mountain Brewery for lunch of even pop to the Village and come back. We didn't stay all day, but came and went several times and felt like we got our money's worth out of the trip.

Our family loves our trips to Big Bear Lake, it's not that long of a road trip from Palmdale ca. and lots of kid friendly things to do.We decided to check out the Alpine Slide, my grandkids are 6,8,9,and 11 and all of them loved it! Five tickets for $25.00 but worth it. We will be back. It you go on a Holiday week just know the place will be crazy crowded and almost no parking. Go at 10:00 am when they open if you can. The slide tickets are good for 2 weeks but the snow play tickets at $30.00 are only good for that day. And cash only.

It was great, long lines for the cart ride (not worth it) Workers were really grumpy and did not give ANY direction. The tubing area was great. 30 per person is steep if you have a big family but it was worth it.

I have no idea why people give such bad reviews. This is a amusement park type draw for crowds. Yes, it will get crowded- It is fun!- It is entertainment so bring your money. For the Tubing down the Snow Hill- It is $30 a person- cash. This is the only thing we did. They do have a bobsledding type ride and putt putt, but we did not do this and you pay separately for these. We got there early so we could enjoy before the crowds. YOU will have to stand in line to get in, so be prepared. My husband stood in line, while I took our girls to the bathroom. TOTALLY recommend getting there right as they open, TAKE sunscreen and sunglasses, BRING cash, LEAVE purses in car (they do have 12 small lockers for rent, they go fast). Enjoy the Magic Carpet that is like an escalator from the bottom of the hill to the top. You just stand there as it takes you to the top! - I recommend tubing from 10-1:30, then bring lunch to eat at your car, tailgator style. Then, go back in for more fun. They do shut down and take a break around 4-5 so they can make more snow for night sledding. We didn't do that but I heard the night tubing is fun and cheaper at $20 a person. The staff was very friendly and helpful- and did not see the rudeness that others were saying. I loved the fact that they were catching people trying to sneak in for free.-(yes, really happens- perhaps this is what people were meaning, they were rude and wouldn't let me go in free). Enjoy! Fun times.

We booked our trip to Big Bear from Los Angeles in early February and there were only small patches of snow remaining. Our kids (10, 5) had never been to the snow before so it was kind of a bummer at first. But we took them here and they had the time of their lives tubing and riding the alpine slide. That is the reason it gets an extra star because, man, was it pricey for our family of four (on a budget). Tubing is $30 a person, but at least our 5 year old was free because he is under 6. The Alpine Slide is $6.00 a ride or 5 tickets for $25. We forked out $115 for about 2.5 hours. Pros:Fun, Fun, Fun! The Tubing is great and line moves quickly even on a very crowded day.Alpine Slide is SOO funYeah, that's it .. FUN. We drove by a similar place on the way down the mountain that just has tubing and the hills in comparison to that place we super impressive and the other place charges the same.Go Karts (didn't check prices cause couldn't afford to spend any more money)Free parking (thank God!)Cons:$$$$Not a lot of signage, a bit unorganized for charging so muchExpensive food, tooDespite the price tag. We made memories to last a lifetime.

The slide was fun, especially for our 6 yr old who got to slide all by himself! But it's pretty old and some of the staff was rude. Also a little pricey if you ask me, but some nice people gave us their unused tickets so we could go a couple extra times.:-) They also have a tubing hill, but the one on the other side of Big Bear is much better,(bigger and nicer tubes to use). I think it's a visit once place, but no need to go back.

We were in Big Bear for the weekend and wanted to take our 8 and 1 year old to some snow fun activities. We decided to visit Alpine Slide because we wanted to try the bobsled that they have. The price was $6 per ride or $25/5 and $30 for the tubing for the whole day. They have 2 sessions, a morning and night session. We enjoyed the day session because by the time the second session started it got too cold for our little ones. Definitely wear snow boots if you can because the snow starts turning icy when so many people are walking on it that it gets very slippery. Get there early because the parking is not great. We waited about 25 minutes just to find parking and about another 20 minutes in line to buy our passes. They do have a snack bar with some food but we didn't try it. We had a great time, I will go back again when I visit Big Bear.

This lovely place has a number of attractions, each with their own price. There is the tubing option, the Go-Karts, and there is also the Alpine Slide which is a luge experience in which you can accelerate and brake your way down a track on a cart. So Fun! There is also an area that sells food and refreshments. Parking is free but everything else is pay as you go so plan accordingly based on your party size and what you want to do. Looking at it from the ground, you may feel it is too much money. But once you experience the thrill you will be happy you went for it. They are also open at night.Tips for maximizing your experience:Carry Cash. That's all they accept. Allow time to get on each attraction as many times as possible. This maximizes your value.Because this is something you can only do here, because it is conveniently located to Big Bear Village, and because it is fun for all ages, I highly recommend this and deem it worth the money. If you can, experience it. It's worth it!

We went there on our last day up in Big Bear because we were, as the title showed, desperated. (There was little to no snow at all up in Big Bear.) It is expensive for what it offers ($30 per person for anyone over 6). The lines weren't terribly long because we went on a Monday. However, we passed by this place on Sunday and it was like a zoo. My son, who loves to play in snow, got tired of it after a couple runs. If anyone in your party that does not want to ride on the slide or snow tube, good luck finding a place to sit/rest. Will not go back again.Tips: Remember to bring plenty of cash, no credit/debit cards accepted. There is an ATM machine there but I suspect with very high fees for usage.

This place was great. We did the half pipe luge. The kids loved it and so did the adults. Would recommend.

We had a blast again on the Alpine Slide and tubing on the snow hills. This place is cool because they have a magic carpet thing that gets you up the hill without having to climb stairs or the hill. My only problems with the place are it's very expensive, $30 per person for the snow play and $25 for the slide (5 runs down the slide) so with that and lunch and maybe a snack or drink it's like a $200 day at least. Also, the bathrooms are yucky! But it is a lot of fun and we will go back again next year!

We had fun, but it was really crowded on a Saturday morning at opening time. The parking lot fills up pretty quickly, and it's hard to get in and out after 10 am. Be prepared with cash for everything, since credit cards, and debit cards are not accepted. They do have an ATM, but of course the line can be long, since most people are in line getting cash for the tickets. The tubing runs are fun, and the lines at the magic carpet lines move really quickly, so after all the waiting we were able to enjoy ourselves. I recommend you get there early, and I also recommend you pack a lunch, since the snack bar gets crowded, and there aren't many tables. At Lunchtime, you won't be able to drive out, get lunch, comeback and get parking. It was fun, but I wasn't prepare for the lines, the parking, and the cash only.

Although there are a lot of people and the lines can be long as others have said, we had a great time and it was really fun. The ride to the top is very nice and you can get some great views. The ride down on the slide is a lot of fun, although sometimes you may get behind someone who is going really slow and it can be a little boring. I would definitely recommend this for families who want something fun and active to do in Big Bear.
