Learned about this on Tripadvisor and found it (nestled in a neighborhood of expensive homes.) Beautiful, relaxing area with great rocks and sand. The surf attracts good surfers and they are fun to watch. The scenery is gorgeous. No bathrooms or vendors, but the 7-11 is not far for drinks, etc. Parking is limited, but we got a space very near. Liked that there were stairs down to the beach.

If ever I could choose a place to relocate, this would be it! The character of this town, the pride of ownership and the beautiful ocean make me dream of calling it home!

This is an awesome place to just chill on the bench by the sidewalks and watch the surfers. Some of the best in SoCal hang here.

I stayed near here in a rental..and loved it. It was a very quiet beach where you can watch all the surfers. It has some nice benches that the locals go in the morning with the coffee or tea and watch the ocean and surfers. It's very clean, much nicer than the crowded La Jolla beaches, where the swarms of people are.

a lovely beach - clean water - nice family spot - people friendly - no dumping of rubbish - patrolled - good place to spend an afternoon with a good book

It seemed much easier to find parking around this part of La Jolla. On this beach you will find the beach hut made for the Beach Boys, and there is almost always a crowd of experienced surfers. The waves are big here and the water is shallow, so it's not for novice surfers. The views are breathtaking and it's fun to watch people who know what they're doing out on the waves. It's worth a stop!

A fabulous place to watch expert surfers. Huge waves and rocky shore. There are places in sand to sit during low tide. High tide and you're up on the rocks which is fine if you have a chair. High tide is the time to watch the surfers.

This is a good place to go to avoid the pandemonium and parking hassle of La Jolla Shores. The beach is more rocky & less sandy, which I find prettier, but there are still many places to lounge. It's definitely not a beginners surfing beach like the Shores, and the surfers here won't be afraid to tell you if you don't belong.

The absolute best beach, for sunning, surfing, swimming...parking is a challenge but its worth a walk!

If you love to surf this is your place. Waves were not for the faint of heart, experienced surfers only. I took my boogie board down to Pacific Beach but loved to watch the sunset while checking out the action on the waves.

This beach is quite lovely --- rocky, sandy, not that big, but windy and beautiful, especially at sunset. We stopped here because I wanted to see the surf hut that was built in 1946. It is a palm covered shack, not very big. It is considered a historical landmark now.Windansea Beach is named after an ocean front hotel that burned down sometime in the 1940's. It is a surfer-heavy beach and populated mostly by locals. Parking is street or lot, but the lot is quite small, maybe only 15 spots.I am glad I stopped and I do recommend a visit to see the surf hut.

This beach is smaller than the cove, but has more actual beach space to lay out on. The sand is nice and smooth. It is a great place for a beach day in summer and a nice walk in winter. If you want to see super cute surfers go there. Great for families. I miss this beach.

We enjoyed this beach so much. It is not a real big beach, but it has so much variety, in beach, rock, walking, surfers to watch, and ocean to enjoy.

Its a difficult break, and the rocks are kinda scary but if you know what you're doing, this place is freaking amazing.

We got engaged here, couldn't be more romantic. Every photographer wants to shoot here - the sun setting light is insanely perfect.Parking is challenging.Beach is short, not great for walks.Sometimes the summer stink hits, along with the dangerous tide and the flies. Otherwise, it is a very special spot and perfect for capturing moments.
