Lot of snack area and shops. LOVED the all way crosswalk on Carlsbad Blvd. Lots of activity and if you like people watching, you will enjoy all the interesting folks that are walking, shopping, and eating and just "hangin' out".

Cute shops and lots of fun places to eat. Ice cream shop, chocolate bar, clothing stores, and antique shops. Enjoyed walking along, looking around, and loving the weather.

Lots of small, specialty shops, offering local and imported stuff. Not your typical beach boardwalk, but upscale shopping too.

The vibe was great. The people are friendly. cool seeing people on bikes with surfboards attached. The lights to cross the streets are REALLY long.

Carlsbad seems to have more of a village character than any other berg along the SD to LA coast. Lots of excellent restaurants. Lots of nice beach. A pleasant downtown area for shopping or just strolling before dinner..... A great place to visit-----lots of mature trees add character to town. And you can catch the train to visit sites north and south....

expecting a bit more. The shops were rather boring and there appeared to be only one restaurant/bar that seemed to be have anything going on. We left without eating, drinking or shopping.

The village area has a unique feel to it. Mt wife said it reminded her of a small european town. Lots of places to eat and shop. Always felt very safe to walk places with my wife and daughter. A few neat places to watch the sun go down too.

So many trendy little shops. We appreciated most everything is within walking distance, great shopping and great restaurants. The sidewalks are beautiful interlock stone. Very pretty.

I loved walking around this town with all the shops and restaurants. It was a beautiful day to be out and about. We happened upon a grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony that added to the charm of the village.

Lots of neat little boutiques to browse through. Lots of historic buildings to look at and just a nice place to stroll around.

Beautiful beach town that happens to have great food and shopping. We spent a week and made great day trips to nearby San Diego. We were always eager and happy to return to Carlsbad at the end of the day. I love the afternoon that they turn the street into a lovely farmers market.

Great shops, small diners with good food. Lots of people walking their dogs or riding bikes. Outside seating at many restaurants and pets welcome. Great boutiques.

I recently got an "escape winter" ad for Carlsbad in my email. I laughed to myself based on my recent experience there. I thought Carlsbad and Southern California was a wonderful place but I also think you should keep in mind that it doesn't mean you are guaranteed warm wether. We went along with family who have young kids expecting that the temperature might be cool but we ended up being unlucky and the temperature was much lower than the seasonable average. While I love the southern part of the USA to visit, I won't do it again because too many times I have been unlucky and ended up with much lower than seasonable temperatures. Of course I am not blaming the region that would be silly, complaining about the weather is foolish, however, I will be much more likely to bet on good winter escape weather further south from now on.

If you are visiting the beach at Carlsbad the Carlsbad Village is a short stroll from the beach. Many, many places to shop and lots of very good restaurants.
