We traveled down into California for a ways and visited the redwoods, drove through the giant tree, entered the Jedadia Smith state park and drove through the quaint little road through the redwoods coming out in Crescent City. So much to see and do in that area. Wonderful photo ops too.

Had two great days fishing for King Salmon on the Smith River. Fished with Ron DeNardi of Ron DeNardi Outfitters and guide Bret (Bretski) Barber. Caught Limits of keepers both days and several fished released to fight again. These two guides have fished and lived on this river their entire lives and I personally have fished with them for the past 30+ years. I highly recommend them for any fishing adventure on the Smith, Klamath, or Chetco Rivers. They supply all of the equipment and bait, just bring lunch and drinks. Children welcome.

Remote, wonderful, beautiful, natural area.. For seeing the real California and enjoying nature, this is the place... We go there often.

Probably the most scenic river in California. Good fishing and kayaking to be had. I have to keep writing because I need more characters.

I couldn't find the location exactly, but I believe it is along the costal end of US Highway 199/197.Beautiful little beach, large rocks for toombstoning (jumping off rocks) at your will. The clarity of the water is extremely good, though it is a little chilly. There isn't a great lot of space on the sandy half of the beach, but if you can find your way to it there is a pebbly side too (can't paddle through the river across though). Away from the tourists, lovely little location. Had an amazing day. Very clean - no litter.

The South Fork allows the visitor to see the redwoods and there is nothing as beautiful as the sun filtering through the redwoods and illuminating the river's surface. The Smith River is a rare river in that the water is crystal clear; allowing you a rare glimpse of the river bed....

The last free flowing river in CA - all three forks are truely amazing. The clarity is, as if you were in the indian ocean or south pacific!

One of the cleanest, most beautiful salmon/steelhead rivers in America. It is the only river on California's Pacific Coast that has no mud. It is a short, purely granite riverine system without pollution of any kind. All runoff into the river is filtered through Redwood, Douglas Fir, and pine forests.

Anywhere along the Smith is beautiful. Popular for fishing, canoeing, Kayak, or tube. Just a gorgeous place to visit. Camp at Jed Smith or just visit while in the area and you won't be disappointed. I live here and visit often.

Stopped here on the way south, and spent a couple of hours. Kids had fun playing in the water and it was an absolutely beautiful spot.

The Smith River is the clearest, most beautiful scenic river I know of. It is worth the winding drive for the views, fishing and swimming. As a bonus it is only a few miles from the Southern Oregon Coast...even more of natures beauty!
