We drove 53 miles to attend Sr. Day, from 12-4pm, at the Southern California Fair in Perris, CA. We paid $8 non-refundable parking and $3 each admission. Upon admission we discover that all of the rides and games would be closed until 3pm. Really!?! The only thing available was overpriced, dubious looking fair food, and camel rides. Now, how many seniors do you think were up for a camel ride. Yup, you guess it. None! In less than an hour we had seen all there was to see and do, and so we left.

I had a hard time locating Lake Perris on this web site because it listed it in Northern CA when it is actually in Southern CA just east of Riverside, CA. My husband and I have camped there several times and have always enjoyed our stay very much. We have a small trailer so we stay in the hook up sites (water, electricity & gray drain, with a free dump station in the campground). We paid $45 per night (-$2 if you're over 62) and usually stay 2-3 nights. There are also tent sites for $30 per night. There is a limit of 8 people OR 3 vehicles (towed RV trailers count but no extra charge) per site and there is a $10 charge for extra cars on the site. We absolutely love going during the week when there are no crowds and it is very serene. Yes, sometimes you get the occasional rude camper, but that happens everywhere. The State Park Rangers were very helpful when we reported a problem with a discourteous camping group and it was taken care of immediately. It's great that the Rangers also patrol frequently. Ask for the dispatcher phone # when you check in if you have a concern. The campground staff was very informative, helpful and friendly. The campground clerk even offered written directions to various nearby community services such as stores and banks. We found that out when we wrongly presumed we could use our ATM card to pay for our stay. The park only accepts cash or a check (no plastic), I was told that the Park is in the process of getting the ability to take plastic and hope to be online in the next few months. The restrooms were immaculate and cleaned daily, the museum (free) was very interesting and there is a great view from there. We also rented bikes and a small boat at the Marina which was great fun. There is no cable, but we didn't mind because we were outside enjoying this haven that is smack in the middle of suburbia. This place is great for families and campers of all ages.

My wife and I went. It was in July so it was hot!!!!! But we had the place basically to ourselves. The site restroom's were very clean and the view from up on the site was great. It was peaceful and quiet . We went down to the lake and it was so refreshing and the water was clean compared to what other campers reviews had said. The staf was very friendly. Not alot to do there other then the beach and nature watching. But that was what we wanted to just relax in our tent and chill. I'm sure this isn't a grand RV resort but for what you get $25.00 a night it was worth it for a local escape for my wife and I.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY GOING HERE (PERIOD)!This is the worst campground I've ever been too. I've been camping for more than 25 years and have never experienced anything as bad as this. Rude and unfriendly rangers. Crowded and very loud. Its basiclly a party animal place, not a place for a nature lover. The camp sites are small and have no shade. This is not worth your time or money.
