We have played this golf course when one just wants to go out and play a practice round. It is in the horse race track area of the Alameda Country Fairgrounds. There is a driving range as well. On a pleasant summer day like today though it was perfect as I wanted more time to enjoy the Good Guys Rod and Custom car show at the Alameda County Fairgrounds which was the primary reason for my visit. Both were fun!My rating is average for the golf course. My time today doing both activities was more like a 4 to 5.As such, I suggest checking out what events are going on at the Alameda County Fairgrounds if you decide to play this golf course and go for both! if something fun is going on.

A very basic 9 hole course, built in the middle of the Fairgrounds Horse Race Track. Course condition is very average, but on summer weekday evenings a round is just a few dollars. There are virtually no trees, and the fairways are hard to identify. If you want a short course for challenging golf this is not the place for you. But for some swing practice it is perfect.

This is a great place to practice your short game. You may need to use your Driver maybe twice. Don't forget to bring your bag cart. This is strictly a walking course.

I play/practice here at least once a week and find it well maintained and therefore the nice place to practice my short game as most holes are par threes. The greens are elevated making the tee shot challenging. You don't want to end up in the bunkers though. The sand is actually dirt ---no where near "great" quality. The practice green is big enough for also practicing chipping and pitch shots. A family outing is very popular here because it is such a short course and it can be crowded on the weekends. The race track and fairgrounds are an usual but very pretty setting. You get to hit over water on the 8th hole which is fun too. Get out and play...it's worth the $12.00 and 10 for seniors (+65).

Good mix of short, medium& long holes. Good for beginners or infrequent players , or a quick practice round. Great views of Pleasanton Ridge.

This is a small 9 hole golf course, usually for beginner golfers. It can be very slow on weekends so expect to wait. It's wide open so you shouldn't get into too much trouble unless you are a wild hitter.

All learners need to start somewhere. For $14-18 one gets to play nine simple holes, including three Par-4s. Usually not very crowded and easy to get a tee-time.

Played here several times. it's a very short 9 holes in the middle ot the race track at the Alameda County Fairgrounds. Not particulary challenging, but a good place to get some exercise walking and work on your (very) short game.Great for beginners.

ugly to look at but easy walk and fun enough for practice.

... great place to take a beginner. I taught my son to play here. It's nice, but amazingly the biggest hazard is the horse track! Lose a ball in there and it's not only gone but probably bad for the horses as well.

If you're looking for a place to practice your short game, or just get some exercise, this'll do just fine. Not much of a challenge (except for the birds) - but where else can you play a par 31 in the middle of a thoroughbred race track!Get a tee time before 9:30 and you're nearly guaranteed to see race horses going through their paces as you pitch and put around the course.
