Golden Coast Meadery tasting room is a tiny place in the back of an industrial park. It is open Fri-Sun afternoons. The tasting counter is wedged between the brewing equipment and pallets of ingredients. Alex gave me a wonderful introduction to meads. As a complete mead rookie (and which resident of this realm and century isn't?), I was amazed at the subtleties and complexities of this fine beverage. It tastes like a cross of light beer and champagne but has a kick with 12% ABV. Golden Coast offers four taps at any time and a variety of bottled options.
