First visit to E LA College and the Vincent Price Art Museum was great. The new campus is beautiful, and the museum was well beyond expectations. Enjoyed the Ramirez special exhibition. Free parking on weekends in the adjacent garage, and lots of restaurants around.

Today I visited the museum for the first time and was very impressed. It is in a modern building, with art on three floors. This review is of my visit and is based on the art I saw today. The top floor had works from the permanent collection, which included some pre-Columbian art, but mostly modern works, many by Latino artists, but some not. The other floors had shows by three local artists - one was very far out, but the other two were figurative art and very accessible and I really enjoyed them.I went to the museum via the Gold Line light rail, then walked up Atlantic Ave. But there is a bus that runs on Atlantic and I took that going back and will take it the next time I visit the museum.Of course I would have given a different rating if the art had not impressed me so much, but I can only rate what I saw.

Wide range of work from the late, great LA artist Carlos Almaraz. A surprisingly large-scale museum for being in a Junior College. If you're in the area, it's worth a visit.
