My wife and I recently toured Mono Lake by kayak. Thanks to the helpful instructions provided by Stuart and Sue made it the highlight of our trip to the eastern Sierra region. Stuart provided excellent geological information, while Sue provided the encouragement to help us novice kayakers during our three-hour tour. Mono Lake provided the rest!

We had a great morning kayaking around the tufas at Mono Lake. I have never kayaked before and Stuart was a great teacher. He is patient and encouraging. His knowledge of the area was really good. He had lots of interesting facts and stories for us as we glided thru the lake.

We had a wonderful time on the kayak tour with Sue and Stuart! They were very patient with our beginning kayak skills, and we learned so much about Mono Lake! It was breathtaking to kayak among the tufas!

We had the best time with Sue and Stu and the rest of the merry band of kayakers (is that a word?) who we met this past Wednesday. The tour of Mono (rhymes with oh no, not mahno) Lake was simply amazing. It was one of the best things we did during our 5 night stay in Mammoth. The kayaking is easy-going, so everyone from my 9 year old daughter, who had never kayaked, to my 60+ year old mom, enjoyed themselves and could keep. The guides are knowledgeable, super friendly, and patient. Could not have asked for a better experience.

Mono lake is a truly unique area it is a saline soda lake. It is studded with limestone Tufas which are formed when calcium from under ground springs reacts with the the lake water, these rise up (very slowly) from the bottom. The best way to see it is by Kayak, Sue and Stu are extremely knowledgeable about all things relating to Mono lake. We got excellent views of the tufas, sea birds and stopped for lunch/snack where we saw the brine shrimp and obsidian. The kayaking was easy, they have double kayaks for families and singles as well, the water was still and calm.Make a reservation and check it out, you will be glad you did
