Was there for an charity event. The wines produced is okey, not outstanding, but not bad.The venue is very dog friendly, with lots of animal lovers, so if you are part of fitting the profile (and especially, living in the vicinity), this is definitely a place to hang out.The patio is a nice touch for a winery/tasting room.

McGrail is a fun place to go and taste wine; while I have enjoyed finer wine, the staff here is stellar and the events here are fine. The wine for such is quite good.

Last October, we traveled from Ohio to Napa and Sonoma, one of our favorite places to spend time with friends. After we spent our time there, we decided to explore some other "options" in California. One of greatest wineries we found was McGrail Winery in Livermore. The staff was friendly, patient, and extremely knowledgable. The wine was excellent, especially the James Vincent. The winery is not very big, which, in my opinion, is why the quality standards can be so high and wine so good. It's obvious this family owned business is proud of it's wine and winery. I would suggest stopping in for a tasting the next time you are able to visit the Livermore area. We were certainly pleasantly surprised by our experience outside of Napa and very satisfied with our experience in Livermore.

I've been to several winery's in my time and I have to say this one is truly a grand experience. Loved the intimate vibes and the great tasting wines. Had many great conversations with the staff and learned a lot about the winery and their process. My favorite wines were the Cabernet from 09' and the James Vincent. Also love their Chardonnay. If you're in he area or in San Fran, it's worth the trip!

July 2012 I hosted a 60th birthday luncheon for 6 ladies on the patio of the winery. I brought all the food and the winery graciously helped me set up and prepare for the lunch without any fees. I came early to set up and they helped. They have a lovely covered porch with a view of the area and excellent wine and ambience. The staff was wonderful as I planned the event. We also tasted wine (there is a charge for that) and I bought 2 bottles for our luncheon. The site, wine and staff made this a huge success.

My family and I visited this winery this past weekend. Not only were the wines exceptional, but just sitting out on the patio was so relaxing with beautiful views. Livermore Valley has really come a long way in producing some great wines. For many East Bay residents, it's a lot closer to go than the Napa Valley. I highly recommend a visit to this winery.
