The Sequoia Park Zoo in Eureka is a great place to visit while in town. There are many varieties of animals and the surroundings are great. The food in the restaurant there is also very good, great stop for lunch!

I have been going to this zoo since I was a little girl. Over the years it has turned into a real educational experience. The entire zoo is charming. The Barn Yard is a great experience for children. Then there is the park next door. Great place for letting your children or grand children get some play time. If you go, be sure to head down to the duck pond to watch the ducks. If you look closely you will see turtles in the water too.

This zoo is small. There are a few neat exhibits (otters, red pandas, and petting zoo). It is something neat to see when you are in such a small town, but don't expect something like the San Francisco Zoo.

This is a small zoo that is very pleasant and has some treasures. Children love the place and a new exhibit with north coast habitat has been well received. The red pandas are always fun.

This is the smallest zoo I've ever been to -- and I've been to many around the world. However, it is informative and fun for the children - especially with the addition of the new otter exhibit! An Eagle is coming soon which I'm looking forward to visiting.

We so enjoyed the small clean friendly zoo! The new otter exhibit was so fun watching the kids having a blast crawling through a tube that takes them into the under water with the otters. The Red Pandas were also a delight, we were there at feeding time (11:00a), they really are cute. A must see with for any age.

Yes Sequoia zoo is the oldest operating zoo in the state. If you don't have the expectations of a large city zoo you will love it. It is user friendly, quaint, has enough animals to keeps the interest of parents and children alike and is in a beautiful setting. Adjacent to the zoo is Beautiful Sequoia Park. A very civilized manageable way to spend the day with the kids.

This is a great, small zoo. Great animals, kids will love it, especially the close-up otter tank and the petting zoo section. Since this is a small zoo, it is not an overwhelming trip. This is also situated within a wooded area, complete with Redwoods! Highly recommended.

Pretty little zoo for a small area. I was surprised it was nestled in a residential area. The enclosures were well kept and most of the animals seemed to have enough room. Great place to take kids.

I enjoyed the quaintness of this zoo. Lot's of fun exhibits and also a good place for my boys to play around in. The only disappointing thing was so much was under construction and we wished we could see the new exhibits!

We had the pleasure of taking our niece, grand niece (2) and nephew (6) to see the new exhibit of river otters among other things. The zoo is extremely child friendly. The small size of the Zoo, makes it perfect for an hour or two outing. One difficulty: The cafe is not managed very well (at least the day we visited) so that it takes a long time to get service even if you just want a lemonade.

Cute little zoo. A bit expensive for bringing kids often. But in Eureka there are not any other zoos around. The kids do like going. Wish there were less plants blocking the views for the kids, so they could see the animals better.

This zoo is awesome! and totally supported by the local community and businesses. Recently added sea otters and salmon tank. Annual passes are under $50.00 which make this the place to spend the day with your grandchildren on the weekends. Animal habitats and living quarters are clean! I love this zoo.

August 17th, 2014 marked the Grand Opening of the Watershed Heroes exhibit with river otters, salmon and (eagles to follow).A truly educational and fun experience. The children (and adults) love being able to crawl through an acrylic glass tube in the otter exhibit, with the otters swimming around you! The exhibit is interactive with a new Learning Lab. There is even a mascot "Super Salmon" guiding you through the exhibit on some days. Check ahead. Spend a day, have lunch and enjoy the scenery of a Redwood Forest backdrop to the zoo.

The zoo is very small.... has construction going on that appeared almost completed. We visited in the afternoon, not much activity going on by the few animals. Admission is priced right for the size We were in and out in 45 minutes but still enjoyed.
