One of the worst condition golf courses that I've played. The small, well-maintained greens offered a challenge, but the yellow, dried out or dust bowl fairways were shockingly bad making it difficult to discern one fairway from the adjacent one on some tees. You'll need to tolerate the stench of the canal water on some holes. The lone positive was the friendly pro shop staff. Avoid.

We had a fabulous time with our friends for New Years Eve. We have a tradition of spending New Years Eve at the Barbara Worth and each year the place gets better and better. There were 3 dance floors with 8 DJs.The food is amazing. The service is great. The rooms we stayed in were lovely with cozy blankets and a view of the golf course. We always enjoy our stay and it is convenient to have everything we need in one place.

I have the choice of staying at both Marriott preoperties here in El Centro, I am a Perpetual Platinum with them., however, I love the history associated with the Barbara Worth Resort. The new owners are gradually making the changes to return it to it's glory days. The restuarant is fabulous.........great food, best selection of beer in California, I would bet. Friendly folks from front desk, to the folks behind the bar plus Kelly for breakfast. So come on down.........bring a coopy of "The winning of Barbara Worth" and give it a read whilst youi are here.

The BW resort is in reality a rundown motel with an old golf course. Five years ago we stayed there and it was okay. Now it's fallen into hard times. The staff is pleasant, and apologetic, but the fadad carpet smelled, and the drab walls smelled, the the worn furniture smelled. The bathroom in our rooom had no window or fan, and decades of bathroom smells have soaked into the room where you sleep. We opened the sliding glass patio door for air (it was about 40 degrees out) but the smell stayed in the room. The bed was okay, but the bedcover was thin, and the pillows lumpy (they actually had lumps, so we used the cushions from a chair for pillows instead). We checked out after one night, although we had prepaid for two nights, and the staff gave us a refund for half of what we had paid, and said they were sorry.

Room was filthy. Non smoking room with cigarette burns in the carpet. Carpet stained with dirt and toilet floods. Parking lot and grounds unkept. Walkway outside my room was littered with beer bottle caps and cigarette butts. The pools were "temporarily" closed. The restaurant was closed on the nights I was there which left the bar as the only option for dinner. The bar had farms boys and a couple drunk farm workers hooping it up to the rap music that was cranked up way too loud. Some management personnel entered the bar and were talking to the only other two people in the dining area of the bar. I believe they were another employee and her daughter. They were talking about a fraudulent hotel booking website that was taking money from people and giving them bogus confirmations, so that when the people arrived they'd paid for reservations that they didn't have. Dumb place for them to have that type of conversation where guests could hear them.

We came out to the Valley for the weekend and happen on to this hotel and golf resort and were very pleasantly surprised. We had a wonderful diner In there restraunt, spent some time in there sports bar and I even got out to play a round of golf. All in all we had a wonderful weekend and will defiantly recommend it to our friends.

This hotel is old and under constant improvment. The price is considerably lower than the chain hotels, and the staff is very friendly and accomodating. If you are expecting a High end hotel, there are none in the Imperal Valley area, however I belive that the current direction of this hotel will make it a high end hotel in the years to come. I stay at this location 1 to 2 weeks every month and have seen steady improvements to the property and to the rooms. I have stayed at much better hotels, and much worse, and have stayed at almost every credible hotel in the Imperial Valley, I prefer this one. It is not the best, but not the worse. The renovation to the Bar area is very nice, the food is very good, and everyone is very friendly.

I went to the Caddies bar one Friday night and couldn't believe how dark, unsafe and empty the parking lot was. Once I got into the bar I was shocked to see the cheap decor and rough crowd.I would not recommend going alone if you are a female.

This resort is about to become the grand dame she once was! The ongoing renovation is a sign that the ownership is committed to making it the valleys finest resort. The Fields Steakhouse is open on weekends and offers what we thought was the finest meal in the valley! We also enjoyed the live music at Caddies Sports Tavern after dinner. The crowd was mostly locals that were very friendly. The golf course is in good shape and the greens are true. The pools are under repair at this time and management said it should be ready by Oct. 2012. There is really nothing like this place in the IV.

We stayed at this place called Barbara Worth Resort during renewable energy summit but this resort is in horrible condition. It did not feel likes a resort at all. A place without pool, Jacuzzi, restaurant and internet service. Carpet in room was dirty and room decor is outdated with old furniutre and a small 19" television set. It felt like I was living in 1970s. Parking lot and golf course are in poor conditions. Only thing looks good was their big conference room. There are other good options in Imperial Valley. I do not recommend this place to anyone.
