Let's start off with the good. This is a very clean range. The restrooms, lobby, and ranges are very well kept up. The staff is very friendly and helpful with a 50/50 mix of men and women. The rifle and pistol ranges are indoors with 100 and 25 yards respectivly. They are both well ventelated. They call a cease fire every 30 minutes for the rifle range to post and retrieve targets. The proshop is well equipped with the usual cases, bipods, etc. They have reloading supplies and plenty of ammo. They sell all manor of firearms from $8,000 sporting shotguns to cricket 22's as well as pistols. They also rent all sorts of firearms. There are two outdoor trap fields and one of the fields throws 5 stand also. Now for the bad. To shoot at this range you MUST take an open book 25 question safety test to receive your safety card. That in itself isn't a bad thing. What's bad is that if you lost or left your card at home, they don't keep ANY records on file so you MUST take the test again...even if you've been there every week more than once for 4 years and they know you. You also can not use your trap tickets without your membership card if you bought those tickets at the members discount. Lose your card..pay for a replacement. The rules are extreemly rigid and inflexable. The trap field throws clays, but they are not ATA quality as far as speed or elevation. It varies day by day. They are still good for practice and fun. The indoor range can sometimes get very crowded and a resulting wait to get on the range occurs. This is particularly annoying if you want to shot your new rifle on the rifle range because another policy is that you have to QUALIFY your rifle first. This means you have to put three consecutive shots into a target area (I think it's 4" square) at 25 yards with that rifle/sight combination before you can take that rifle on the 100 yard rifle range. This means also that if you change optics, you have to go through the whole process again. Imagine visiting from out of town and wanting to shoot your 10/22 at this range for the first time on a busy day. Take the test, wait for a 25 yard range to qualify, wait for a 100 range to shoot. It could be hours to shoot it at 100 yards. All of this being said, I like the range because I know their quirks and I hope this review saves you some trouble if you go there for the first time.

Was in town for a wedding and since I recently have taken up the shooting sports, decided to check out this Trap Range which is about 30 minutes outside San Diego. Located in a rock quarry and on the side of a mountain - this looks like a fun place to shoot with two trap houses and indoor ranges as well. Seems to be well run and organized with lots of activity - I was there on a Saturday morning. Rentals are available and the staff was very friendly and personable. I didn't have the time to actually shoot but will go back if in the area again in the future.

My boyfriend and I went here on our last day in California. We have gone shooting twice before in another state and wanted to try a different range. P2K has a wide selection of rentals available and the prices were much cheaper than those we encountered back east. I was a little tentative at first because you are given very little instruction (someone was with you the ENTIRE time at the other range we shot at), but all shooters must take a safety test beforehand so safety is definitely a priority. The employees will help you whenever you ask. We tried shooting a Glock 19, but it kept jamming so they let us shoot a 9mm Sig Sauer instead and did not charge us for the Glock rental. Cool place to spend an afternoon, would go back, especially if I get more instruction on how to improve my shot beforehand. I would NOT go here if you are uncomfortable handling firearms on your own.

My friend and I decided to go to a shooting range since we hadn't tried it before. We looked on the internet but couldn't find anything good with positive reviews or a place where we could go with no experience at all. Most of the places we saw on the internet were asking for some kind of experience in order to rent with them, but after searching for some time we came across P2k Range website and decided to go there. when we arrived we were little nervous since we had no experience, but amazingly friendly staff helped us out to get started. Since we were there first time and since their top priority is safety for everyone we had to give a small 14 question quiz after reading some instructions. They give you a safety card so that next time you do not have to give the quiz again. After we passed the quiz we rented a handgun and went to the range, they asked us if we know how to use the handgun, they showed us how to reload and use the handgun which really helped us a lot. We had lots of fun there and would like to thanks all the staff member to help us out and made our first experience with the handgun great. Pros: very helpful, friendly, smiley faces, lots of option to rent, family place.cons: little harder to find the place but still signs were posted.

The staff are incredibly friendly at P2K, they always welcome new inexperienced individuals that are trying to explore the idea of guns and it's safety. I had an amazing time on the clay pigeon course and have multiple scenarios - targets coming out from multiple locations or more down range shooting. I'd definitely check it out if you have ever had an inclination of learning on how to use a gun. It's fun and very safe.

If you live out in East County, P2K is convenient and fun. You can rent your firearm or bring your own.

Twenty-ish year old men and women working the counter include an U.S. Olympic Trap and Skeet Team Member. Staff is very knowledgeable. Lot of assistance for newbies--no extra charge. Feels very safe. Separate outdoor range for youth groups. Open, clean, pro-shop feel. Some snacks for the kids. Great facilities. Tables and chairs for lounging between rounds both inside and out.

I love this range as it has a shotgun, indoor pistol and a 100 yard range. The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is they charge by the hour and it's not terribly cheap.
