We walk almost daily and the greenbelts allow us to walk through parks, by ponds, by wildlife. Often you don't have to cross any streets. You often forget you are in a city. One of the nice features of Davis

What a wonderful oasis in the city of Davis. A unique and beautiful surrounding in the heart of the city. Acres of lush land. A beautiful lake in center. Ducks, wild fowl and other wild life. A wetlands preserve. Great running paths, a playground, benches to sit and contemplate. Lots of parking. Bathroom.

Small college towns are often magical. Davis is no exception and a major part of its charm is its greenbelt. A beautiful stroll that winds through picturesque plantings, children's play areas and places to just sit and take the air. Other folks enjoying the area are all friendly. Dogs (on leashes) are plentiful and their owners do pick up after them. Take a stroll here. You will not regret it.

Davis greenbelt offers people pleasant place to walk (or walk your dogs), or run, or bike, or play sports. And there are many playgrounds for kids too. You can also view many wildlife in this greenbelt, such as Canada geese, great egret, wood duck, mallard, turkey… just to name few. Julie Partansky Pond is the lovely site to watch these birds; unfortunately right now the water level is really low and birds’ number decreases significantly. This is definitely a first choice for outdoor exercise or a proud place to show your friends who come to visit you in Davis. Note:To Julie Partansky Pond, go to 3434 Anderson Rd, there is parking lot and public toilet. You can also find drinking fountain nearby - in front of fountain pond. There is only a short walking distance to Julie Partansky pond.

I was just there again today! There are lovely well-kept paths for a dog walk or a beautiful bike ride. Check out the flocks of wild turkeys, or enjoy a soccer game at Northstar near the pond and nature reserve! There are lots of play structures and places to picnic.

There are a few greenbelts in Davis, but the North greenbelt (on the Northern side of town) is the largest. It's laid out in a large oval, perhaps a mile in diameter, with the Community Park at the South end and a wildlife pond at the North end. The North greenbelt is quite pretty, with meandering paths and lots of different vegetation and views. There are benches to rest on, to watch the world go by, as well as artistic statue features, and a children's play area.

We live just one house away from a section of the Davis Greenbelt. This is a network of walking and biking trails that connects the entire city, and it gives Davis that "country" feel. No matter where you live in Davis, you can walk out your door and be on the greenbelt in a matter of minutes. Many of our visitors ask to go for a walk when they are here because it's such a lovely place to be. On mornings, evenings, and weekends the greenbelt is full of people - walking, jogging, biking. We run into our neighbors - stop and talk for a few minutes. Every city should have this connective tissue to help build a sense of community. It's one of the things that makes Davis so special.

I take an hour walk most days first thing. Some of my loveliest morning walks are through the greenbelts of Davis. There are paths in the north and south parts of Davis. On Tuesday and Thursday mornings I like to join the Sierra Club group that starts at Peet's Coffee - Marketplace at 7 a.m. and walks a loop usually through the greenbelts for about an hour and a quarter. It's a nice group of people who chat while walking at a good clip. Many of them are nature lovers as well so we often pause for viewing a bird nest or point out the turkeys crossing the field nearby as we walk. I really appreciate that the paths are so well populated because it makes me feel safe.

Running or biking on the bike paths and green belt in Davis is as good as it gets for a runner and biker. You could run for miles and miles and you won't have to run the same belt for months! It is very scenic, very flat and offers shade in some parts on a hot summer day.

The greenbelt is my go to place for walking the dog in Davis. There's always plenty of space and if you want company, many people about. Nice paved paths wind for miles around grass, parks, par course, ponds and open fields. It's a great place to exercise and get some open space.

The Davis Greenbelts stretch for miles around the city and are great for a brisk or leisurely stroll or even a picnic

It's really a park which surrounds the city's core. Paths for walking or bicycling. Interesting and well-maintained plantings. A lovely place to walk with friends, family, pets. A beautiful addition to our city.

Some many paths, wildlife areas, plants. So lucky to have this option for outside activities. Watch for bikes, dogs, runners.
