I like to take our dog every day to relax and exercise, the only dislike is that dog park is closed spring time boo!

This is a sweet, small park with a variety of activity opportunities. Most popular, probably, are the two dog parks, one for small dogs, one for large dogs. There are also bocce ball courts, and their league play always looks like fun. Likewise, there are soccer fields. There is a nice loop walking path that goes around the park. There are a couple of murky ponds. You can climb a small hill to a war memorial or bypass the hill. If you do climb the hill you can also walk along a ridge that has a nice view of the area. Parking is easy either on the surrounding streets or in the small parking lots. Even with soccer games in full force, I've always been able to park easily.

One of many community parks located in Concord, CA, Newhall Community Park has a personality all of its own that draws families and friends from all around the area. If you're a "dog-lover" a recently installed dog park, open to the public, every day but Wednesdays is the place for you and your dog to run and play. If walking is your interest, a gravel trail that circles the lawn areas of the park for approximately 1 mile is an enjoyable walk but will give you a challenge. It's a good hike! A newly installed children's play area near the main parking area is the newest attraction for Newhall Park. A fairly secluded picnic grotto at one end of the park, away from the road and traffic and sheltered from noise can be used for any occasion. Reservations and a small fee are required in advance for use of this area.On many an evening during the Summer, Newhall Community Park welcomes groups playing volleyball, baseball, and most popular, soccer. Week-ends can find Newhall Park busy with activity between the many soccer games, track meets, kite flying, dog walking, and of course, Bocce Ball games. Newhall Park's Bocce Ball Court is a few years old, but quite impressive to say the least. If the amount of attendees means anything, Newhall Park's Bocce Ball Court is the place to be!So whether it is solitude you want, or you're interested in distance walking, or even want to plan an all-day event, Newhall Community Park on Turtle Creek Road in Concord, CA is the perfect location for any occasion. It is highly recommended!

Bocce ball courts is my favorite hang out. Watch the old times and youngsters rolling the ball! Dog off leash and lots of sports teams on the weekend

The City of Concord has several park areas available for event rental. This park (in my opinion) is the best. The grove is a little lower than the street so you atr protected from noise. The city does a great job maintaining the park. You need to make sure that you have somebody at the site early on the day of the event. If you have it rented you will be able to use it, but it may take time to get someone removed after they set-up. The city will assist and remove interlopers, but its better to not let them squat in the first place.
