I grew up with the Wisteria Candy Cottage and I love it to this day. As a kid, it was perfection. As an adult, I appreciate this store for the true gem it is. The quality of the chocolates is second to none, and it is a very charming, quaint store. I don't visit near as frequently as I could, but they do have a website that makes it possible to get my hands on some of their treats even if I am not in the area.

A short drive from Jacumba and the chocolates were yummy! The store is closed Tuesday and Wednesday. Try the sugar free peanut butter cups!

If you are driving along the interstate 8 corridor in San Diego, you'll know that there's not much out there. After heading west and leaving the Desert Tower in Jacumba, we made our way to the Wisteria Candy Cottage in Boulevard. This place is family-owned and has been around for quite some time. We just had to stop to try this infamous fudge we had read about. Well, I'm glad we made the stop. The fudge, chocolate, and candies were all delicious. The woman behind the counter was super helpful and friendly. The location seems like it's in the middle of nowhere because there aren't any other attractions as far as I can see. Would definitely put this place on your checklist to stop by if you love chocolate.
