Austin Phelps Stokes, an Eastern Financier with mining interests all over the West, had Stokes' "castle" built for his sons. They visited once, and that was it. Nothing new for kids born into the money and fed with silver spoon... It's a copy of a Watchman Tower outside Rome Italy. Why is it called "castle" is not clear. It's surrounded by barbed wire and quite ugly (see photo).
