pyramid lake paiute tribe museum & visitors center

We very much enjoyed visiting the Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe Museum and Visitor Center. This museum had a good variety of Native American items, baskets, and amazing art work. It was so interesting to learn more about the Paiute tribe.The architecture of the visitor center is circular. The architecture of the building is beautiful.The staff here was so pleasant and very informative.If going to the Pyramid Lake area, I would definitely suggest stopping here. Its a brief stop (less than half hour or so) but worth going to. Admission is free. There is also a small store.

The museum building is striking with creative and appropriate architecture. The speaker engaged for our trip was an elder who spoke on point for the better part of an hour then started to ramble. We learned some of the history of the area and the Paiute people; most impressively what was being done to preserve the Paiute language. The displays and artifacts were undistinguished - most were either reproduction or of recent vintage - and did not add to our understanding of the Paiute history.

Interessantissima mostra dedicata agli usi e costumi della Tribù dei Paiute. Vasta esposizione di suppellettili ed abiti utilizzati dai nativi che a tutt'oggi gestiscono il museo. Numerosi anche gli animali impagliati. Piccola boutique all'interno con servizi igienici. Il responsabile accoglie i turisti e si rende disponibile a rispondere a tutte le domande che gli vengono chieste. Offerta libera.
