The town of Jarbidge is worth the trip in itself. Very small, lots of ATV's and camo but everyone was very nice. We ate lunch at the Outside Inn - quaint and food was ok considering they have no other services expect a very small general store. We camped along the river about 3 miles outside of town. The road over the mountain to Elko is worth the trip. At the top there is a crossroad with lots of ATV roads that no one was on so we hiked for a few hours. Beautiful. There are other hiking trails that we'll hit the next time we go back.

Fly fishing along the river, Steep canyon walls and specular scenery make for a peaceful spot to get away. Visit the Outdoor Inn for a cold drink or a meal, check out the community center. And enjoy driving on narrow mountain roads. It all makes a great get a way.

Jarbidge is wayyyyyy up in the mountains along the Nevada/Idaho border. Great camping and if you feel lucky you might just pan a gold nugget or two out of the stream bed.
