fascinating aerospace displays and history. excellent docents. A bit pricey but acceptable with a AAA discount. If possible spend most of a day there instead of just 2 hours as we did!

We recently took a trip to the museum. My husband was looking for things to do in our area and found the museum via TripAdvisor! We had a personal tour and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. There are a lot of airplanes that you can climb up or on, as well as thousands of models made by the same guy. I also really enjoyed the space timeline they had.I did a review and video of our visit on my blog: www.clearsunshine.com/living-oregon-episode-4-oregon-air-and-space-museum/

Wanting to kill some time, I took five of my High School buddies (all in their 60"s) to tour the museum. What a stop ! A retired Marine gave us a personal tour of the museum and man did he know his stuff ! Once he found out that two of by buddies were in the Navy, man he started in on them, he was hilarious with his stories, jokes and tales. He stayed with us thru the whole museum explaining everything. On our way back out, we were looking at all the model airplanes in the display cases. And with our luck, the man who built all of the models was there. He entertained us for another hour with stories of the planes, his history and knowledge . . . . It turned out to be one of the highlights of the day !

You can spend an afternoon walking around the place, inside and out. Comparable to the National Air & Space Museum; not as crowded, not as large, but extremely interesting collection. Don't forget to see the collection of tanks in the back. Also, the chapel is worth a visit. A must see stop.

Loved it. Well done all. The family had a wonderful time. Spent the day and could have spent another at the water park if given time. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The price of admission reasonable and included a show at the IMAX Theatre on the gorgeous, well manicured property. Three spectacular hangars housed the air and space collection including the late Howard Hugh's Spruce Goose. Awesome. Highly recommend to all interested in the human endeavor to fly free as the birds.

This was a gem at the airport in Eugene. Clean place and employees are willing to walk around with you to explain anything you want to know about. Great collection in the buildings in and out.

This place is not visited frequently, but is a hidden gem for aviation buffs (and others just interested in seeing cool planes!) The volunteer staff is informative and friendly. My young sons loved it!

My husband and I took our 5 year old son here for a day trip. He loves the model planes!!! The tour guide let his sit in a few for an awesome photo op :)It's a bit on the spendy side but it was worth every penny to get our little guy interested in aviation! And they have some really cool exhibits geared toward Oregon history.

The men who showed us through the museum exude pride and enthusiasm as well as knowledge about the collections in the museum. From first hand relationships with WWII Aces, personal items donated to the museum by American heroes, and a huge number of models put together by one of their own, we were gratified to meet these folks and spend time in their presence. We went a second day, since we had time (we went too late the first day to see it all!) ---they were simply that interesting!! They even have a plane just for children to enjoy....built by the volunteers! If you have questions----they have the answers!

We visited on a day the museum was closed. The two buildings were quite cold which made it uncomfortable. The two docents were very knowledgeable and took time to explain and answer questions. There was an interesting collection of small and exotic airplanes. The collection of models was fantastic. A visit on a warmer day would have been more pleasant.

We were pleased to attend the museum on it's Open House day - admission was free and there were LOTS of volunteers!! My grandchildren & I were treated like VIP's and thoroughly enjoyed our visit.

My husband and I wend to the Oregon Air and Space Museum on the recommendation of a friend who lives in Salem, OR. We were not disappointed. The variety of the items in the Air museum was incredible - from early aircraft to modern-day military aircraft. The docents were informative and while speaking to one, I found out he was retired military and volunteers to work in the museum to keep costs down. He had incredible sense of humor and was informative about the displays in the museum. We even got to see the Gray Goose. The other building house the Space displays. We had just visited Kennedy Space Center in December 2011 and wondered how redundant it would be - IT WASN'T at all. There was a display chronicling the space race between USSR and the USA. Really interesting information. Again, the docents were informative and readily answered questions. There is a third part - we didn't go to see it - it was a water park (I think.)

Restored aircraft, indoor museum, good food, and a wine bar. Docents to show you around, good videos of the various aircraft history.

I am a frequent visitor to this museum; some displays remain the same, while others change, so there is always plenty to see. Conversations with the volunteers are informative and fun; they are enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The displays are wonderfully laid out; the exhibits and pictures are well-marked, and the planes are wonderful!
